So does anyone know for sure if the resistor is required?

    Comment

I need others to confirm the following. When I boot Tige Touch with my push button, the blower runs for about 2 min I think or until I manually shut off.
When I turn the key from off to on to start the motor, the blower does NOT turn on automatically. So you will need to turn on the blower manually before starting the engine for safety purposes. Now I have a 2012 RZR. For those of you with the same install, are you experiencing the same?

We get the fan on for 5 minutes either way.

Here is what I noticed this weekend after getting out button installed

Blower: The blower comes on for its run time everytime the button is turned on, the ignition key has nothing to do with the blower. Suggestion, if you are hanging out (sandbar, docks, beach...) without the motor running, but button on, go into TT and start the blower for a while before starting the engine for safety.

Gauges: The gauges (fuel, taps, temp, etc.) will not turn on unless the button is on and the key is turned 1 click to the right. Both must be done to get the gauges to come up. Noticed this before hitting the water at the gas pumps.

No resistor in our kit and I hooked up the extra wire, everything seems to work GREAT, keeping in mind the above mentioned items. Between this button, the VX and the Surf Bimini, I don't know which I value the most...all are great additions in my opinion.

Well said Dandy. I experienced the same. Over all, push button is a must all things considered!

Blower only runs on Tige Touch system on boot-up (when push button is activated) for 4 min or when manually turned on.
Turning the key to the right does not trigger the fan to turn on. No big deal, I can turn on manually with TT when needed.

My bad, I was under the impression the fan should run prior to EVERY ENGINE START. If it is only intended prior to first start of the day, after refueling and after sitting for a few hrs, then I am good. Thanks.

fan will run prior to engine start turn the fan on or turn on tige touch first.. By adding the button you added a set that the key did for you! IF you buy the button I posted I can show you how to wire it so the key still turns on tige touch as well but allows the button function also =)

IMO, the fan should be started and running for every engine start, not just the first one of the day. As long as my engine is running I leave my fan on, and if you shut down the engine when you switch riders you should leave it running then too.

Bluetooth? I don't know if they relate, but after putting in my "Magic Button" kit - purchased through dealer, so it is the factory set up, the Blutooth button no longer "lights up" on my TT display and will not function. Has anyone else experianced this after adding the kit or is this completly unrelated? Either way, it will be added to the punch list for the dealer to review over the winter.

The resistor is for the LED on the switch itself. It limits the voltage for the LED so it doesn't blow, that's all. Some LED switches require a resistor for that purpose, others don't. Just be sure the switch you have doesn't our you may eventually blow the switch.

But isnt the resister on the Medallion harness, as opposed to the B+ of the push button switch?

I believe the resistor is in the button switch wiring under the shrink wrap (in the factory switch).

I was going back through trying to finger that out. hard to say since some kits came with instruction, some not, some dealer installed and others DIY.
