Han any one had a rev 10 break the bolts that hold it on to the alpha tower. This is the second time I had the bolts break. They on break on the outside side speakers breaks the are mounted sideways and not hanging down. I think it would help if the alpha tower was flat wher the spears mount.

yes, the Alpha-Z has convex speaker perch. Without the Tige collars, the speaker deosnt fit as well. A rubber gasket between the pod and tower will fill the gap between the pod and outer edge of the convex perch. This may prevent the speaker from bouncing up and down, which could possibly result in a broken bolt.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

are you using the tige adapters? The adapter has a groove that mates to the tower with a flat part for the speaker. We have never seen any issues with the factory installed speakers. If you are hard bolting the X mount to the tower without the tige adapter. As chpthril mentioned. there needs to be a hard plastic or rubber gasket in between the tower and speaker with a groove on the tower side so there is no play. The newer Alpha Z towers have this area flat now as well, so older ones need the gasket with a groove. Newer ones still need a gasket but can be flat. The bolts that ship with the X mount speakers are grade 8. These are hex head and NOT allen head bolts. They are a gold type color. Make sure that these are the bolts being used and not something else. We have not seen these break. There should be lock tite on the threads as well. I would think that with the play, the bolt has loosened up and causing the speaker to move and straining the bolt. If they are tight. There should not be any issues. Give Rob a call in our tech support 877-938-7757 and he can ship some new bolts. And help make sure they are bolted up right and take a look at the install and offer any additional advice.

Thanks Tim. I did not use a rubber gasket and I did the install my self. Before doing the install I looked over a couple boats at wws to see how they were mounted. They also dont use a gasket. I was wondering if the swivel mounts would be a better option. The speakers were not loose and the bolts were installed using locktite. I do not have the alpha mount adapters because tige wont sell them to me.
