Is there a better option for my R20 than the Factory Bimini option, it seems a bit obnoxiously priced with the surf pockets.

Get the normal bimini and take it to a local upholstery/canvas place and have them sew in the surf pockets. This is what most folks on here have done.

And the price seems high without surf pockets but if you were to have one made at a custom shop (the older, traditional way of getting a bimini for a boat) it would probably get very close to the factory price, and it's well worth it. I even paid the crazy price for the 2' bimini extension but it's worth it to keep the sun off my kids (4yo, 2yo and 1 in the oven).

I had mine custom made at a local shop for around $650. doesn't have the surf pockets, but IMO that shouldn't add much more to the price.
