First time buyer for a surf boat.

    Hey everyone.

I am looking to buy a tigi boat but don't have a clue on witch one to buy? Me and my girl want a surf most of the time and do the odd wake board just wondering what boat would be the best?
Looking to spend 26000 to 40000$ and between the years oh 2004 to 2009. Got any info let me know and where a can look it up thx.

I would look at a 22V or 24V in that range, great wakesurf wakes, and they still have the big lockers so easier to weight than the 22Ve and 24Ve.

22Ve's have a pretty nice surf wave too, at least I think they are good. I know there are several members (majestic, lancehon) that have the weighting figured out and they make a real nice wave!

If you want a smaller boat, I was just on a 20V last night and it was pretty good as well. Here's a picture of it.

You can look up used boat prices on NADA.com. Just remember the prices listed do not include the price for the trailer. A used trailer should be valued about 3,000. Another TO recently priced out a new boat mate for his RZ2 and it ran a little over 8,000 with custom paint and wheels.

You need to figure out how many people will go out with you on a regular basis, so how big a boat do you need. Then where are you going to keep it, and size restrictions there? After that is settled you can concentrate on a 20V, Z1, 21v, 23v, 22ve or 24ve and try to find the best priced boat for your needs. All of those boats will trow a real nice surf wave. Figure into your budget about $1,200 for the parts to install a sweet ballast system. It's easier to do an install on a boat without ballast but you find what you can find.

Ewok is spot on with what he says so is ragboy. They both as well as others helped me in the decision and I went for the 24ve. Got a real good price and am glad I got the larger boat. Take some out for a water test and that will help also. Good luck.

Ok thx for the info. Girlfriend, kid and I will be on the boat the most of the time, at any given time there will be about 4 to 6 people on the boat so what do you recommend ? What's the differences between 22veand 23v?

I like having the room on my 22ve. We typically go out with 2 other adult couples and it works great for us. Like others have said, a good ballast system enhances the wake immensely and will go a long way to improving the surf wave. I personally didn't want to go above a 22' boat, so the 22ve fit the ticket for us. We also shopped around before finding the right one. Don't get rushed, and you'll be a lot happier when you get the one you want.
