Sometimes the most meaningful changes are the most simple and don't cost much.

So, next question can the magic button be installed on a 2013 z3? That is a pretty nice feature I would like to have.

            2X on ironpeddler's question.
I posted a similar question on the "2014 models already shipped" thread.
I will repeat myself...Please say yes Tige, Please say yes!
Great little upgrade to all TT equipped boats.

I guess y'all with TT can't easily wire the radio onto its own accessory switch so it's not on the ignition circuit. I agree it's a great feature but I hope they don't officially call it a "magic button".

LOL! I doubt Tige is calling it the magic button...but that would be kind of funny!

Its nothing more then a SPST latching push button switch with the "IGN" and "ACC" wires connected to them with B+ on the other. This leaves the key switch doing nothing but putting B+ on the "STR" circuit for cranking.

Chpthril - to make my life simple, how about putting a switch kit together with connectors and detailed wire instructions. I am willing to pay a premium to make my life simple. Price of parts, + $10 for the instructions (to compensate for your "R&D"). Just a thought, there would probably be alot of others willing to purchase a kit. I believe in paying more for service and making my life easy, not a Wal-Mart type of guy.

I would be happy with a step by step to do list. Tell me what to add/subtract cut and/or spice and I try it today.

                            Cheers,

Well, theres 2 ways to go about it. 1) would be to simply relocate the head-unit turn-on wire from the key switch to a rocker. This would power up the stereo, but not the TT. This is what we've done on a few Malibus as they have been running a master on/off button for a number of model years now. One difference in the bu setup is that they install a Rockford remote control like decvice (Bu used the R/F Black Box so head-unit is only a box) so you have helm stereo controls without the Maliview being powered up. Tige only has the TT at the helm, no stereo remote. This would require going to the glove box to control anything.......unless........you are streaming BT and you use your phone as the master volume etc, etc. 2) we can grab the switched B+ for the TT also and have it power up as well.

Logic would tell me that there are either 2 wires on the ACC terminal of the key switch or a single wire that splits off to both the TT and head-unit.

Would you guys like a simple round rocker with an LED or a latching push-button like Bu and now Tige are using?
