That is an interesting decision, as I dont think a non-cat engine can be sold new in CA.

I also thought that CAT engines had to be sold since 2010? I just did some reading and it looks like there is not a "CAT" requirment but an emissions requirement. I supose that if the FAE is part of the engine system, and you take emissions readings from the bubble coming out of the water, then some of the emissions might be scrubbed by the water, so if you wanted to sell a new boat without a CAT you could use the FAE to get the emissions down in order to meet the EPA requirements.

I will ask my brother about why the 555 did not need the cat. He told me as we discussed his purchase but forgot what he said. The noise alone would cause me to go FAE. He did get it on his new G25 with the 555.

At Fresh Air Exhaust we are very happy to see the 2014 G23 and G25. While newer boats with catalytic converters have greatly reduced Carbon Monoxide levels, many of your customers are still operating pre-catalytic boats with dangerous levels of Carbon Monoxide. Also, on all boats, Fresh Air Exhaust virtually eliminates all station wagon effect once the boat is on a plane meaning that boaters with FAE installed are not breathing the fumes of a gasoline engine (which contain compounds that cause cancer). Fresh Air Exhaust is the quietest and cleanest exhaust system available and can be installed on all inboard boats. In regards to a few comments I've read, we do our best to ship out every FAE ready to install with no need for modifications. However, given the large number of boats out on the market, and the fact the we custom design each FAE to fit the specs of a particular year, make, model, there are times that we have to modify what was originally shipped to achieve the perfect fit with no affect on the wake. We rely on our customer's feedback to ensure that this happens and work with all of our customers to do everything in our power to ensure they are completely satisfied.

I have been on two 2014 G23s now (one with the ZR450 and the other with the ZR550 engine) and the FAE makes it so nice for everyone. Less engine noise/fog/CO2 for the surfers as well as less engine noise for occupants in the boat. The FAE on the G23 looks very nice and well designed. Good work

Do those boats have CAT exhaust as well? Just curious if they are only adding it to boats without CAT exhaust or on all the boats.

The ZR409 and ZR450 do have cats as well as the FAE, the ZR550 does not have cats but also has the FAE.
