I demoed a MXZ 22 this week with the surfgate and initially I was very disappointed in the wakesurf. It didnt seem to have any push, length or height to it. The dealer had no idea on how to set the boat up. I left the dealer that day saying wow this boat was an epic failure for wakesurfing. I gave it another go with a guy in my area that is a wakeboard instructor who uses Malibu boats. We spent 3 hours today trying to dial the boat in. We found that the MXZ responds very well to bow ballast. We did FH 750s in each locker and then tried a FH 750 in the bow on top of the stock ballast. With this setup it gave a clean, nice push and decently tall and long wake to ride on goofy and regular side. We tried several different speeds, and wedge positions but found that boat needed 750s in the rear to get it to surf decent. We are going to spend some more time with the boat this week and see if we can get it dialed in better. It doesnt seem to have the height of a G23 wakesurf but it seems to have similar surfable length in the wave. Overall its a nice boat, and has an amazing wakeboard wave. I rode with Chris Laske and he was doing some sick tricks wakeboarding. Both him and I were able to do a side to side transition without the rope, so that was kind of cool. I was able to pull off my first 360 wakesurfing so that was a nice feat. Im still yet to see a boat that can provide the height and length of a dialed in tige, but with that said its nice to drive other boats that dont require a 12-13 degree list.

That's good to know as I frequently visit themalibucrew.com site as well. It does sound like a few people are still having a hard time getting their surfgate boat to perform, maybe posting that over there might help some of them dial in their waves. Luckly Tige has Robert and his family, who do a great job making sure Tige boats have a great surf wake.
