    Lake Powell 2013

I've been hi jacking the Lake Mead thread so I thought I should set up my own on Lake Powell.

Getting ready for the epic two day trip down to Powell.

Just starting to wrap the towers last night.

The wrap is from Home Depot and is only CAD$7 for 1,000 ft roll.

Get the pop corn out ........

I tow with the cover on and the tower down. We take the bimini down and it fits inside the boat under the cover.

I will lay down some wrap all the way around where the cover touches the boat. You have to wrap it with at least 5 layers cause it does not stick to fiberglass.

This will be our seventh major two day tow down to the US and for us this is the best way to set the boat up for a long trip.

What's the purpose behind wrapping the tower?

To keep off the bug splatter and dirt for a long road trip.

California trailer works. Excellent pulling trailer.

Where are you driving from? I saw the pictures of Powell and immediately fired it into Google maps. Not sure my family could handle the drive! What are you towing with?

Vancouver, BC to Powell. 20 hours of driving.

Usually two days with a stop near Salt Lake City, Utah.

                      Not too bad.

We tow with a Infiniti QX56. No problem keeping up with traffic.

Sorry I-90 then I-82. We cut the corner thru Oregan then thru Idaho.

I actual prefer this drive over the drive to LA thru I-5.

Those going to Page thru Kanab should stop by "Houston's Trails' End Restaurant".

The home made pies are very very good.

In fact once we drove two hours from Page to Kanab and back just to buy a couple of the banana cream pies for the houseboat.

As my teenage daughter use to say when she was a teenager, those pies are the bomb.
