Testing on All Models with the 2014 Production VX.

Well, all but the RZ4. I really wish we were able to get on the RZ4. When you see the video of the RZ2, you will understand.

So about the testing. First, each boat has a PRODUCTION VX on it, no prototypes. Each with the 2014 production brackets. We have tested the Z3, Z1, and RZR/R20 with the previous brackets and they did not produce these results. For the results seen in the video, you must have 2014 production VX brackets. See your dealer if you do not.

Each boat was not slammed, only 300 lbs under the surf side seat in addition to Pro Stock ballast, plus myself in the corner, Tony Fussell (Tige sales director) driving, Takoh and my kids. The only exception to that weighting is of the Z3s you see at the end from Wake the Desert. Those are weighted with my custom sacks and then about 400 lbs of steel under the sac in the rear corner because it is only 8-9 feet deep. Yes, that is correct. Chris Kinsey is the Shallow Water Wakesurf Ninja in my book. The wake was great, in under 10 feet of water. For the record, in 15+ feet of water, there is no need for that steel. Make sure you watch this video in HD, hit full screen and enjoy.

    Some observations:
    • Every boat is a better wakesurf boat with the VX, we have tested each before, and after.
    • The RZ2 blew us away, a bit hard to dial at first on goofy, but we only had an hour, and not much weight. It was more adjustable, longer, smoother, cleaner, gorgeous.
    • The RZR is close to competition ready with the VX, great wake. Without the VX, the transition is more abrubt, and can be washy at times. With the VX, the transition is great and its SUPER clean on both sides. The transition is still not that of the Z1, Z3, RZ2, but its close. For a narrow 20 ft boat, its amazing. I don't think there is another 20 ft boat out there that can touch this boat wakesurfing. On a budget? Get a R20 with a VX, RJ loved it.
    • Z1 is so easy to weight and so good. Maybe just a tad shorter than the Z3. If you don't need the extra room, or you need to save a few $$, don't feel like you are cheated with the Z1. If Tige asked us to pull our events like the West Coast Open with the Z1, I would do it in a heartbeat, its that good.

This was lots of fun, I hope you enjoy it. We really tried to get every angle and close and slow on the transition and lip so you could see it for yourself.

Wait til you see the new......

Nice!!! The surf wave on the Z1 looks great until you see the wave behind the Z3. Haha! Seriously, I think the Z1 is a viable option for people who don't need the extra room or don't want to spend the extra $$. See ya in Boise Ragboy. We'll definitely be at lucky peak Saturday, Aug 3. I'm assuming you guys will hook up with tyrell at Prestige watersports? He's the only local Tige dealer.

Excellent video. Cool camera angle from between the platform and VX. That tacoh turn is insane. Kinsey's bottom turn was wiiiide.

Did the 2014 RZ2 have a redesigned hull or is that for 2015?

Glad to see the VX bugs are getting wrinkled out.

And that Z3 was great for 8' depth!

That RZ2 is the same hull you all have. The VX just really adds something to that boat. I am dying to dial in an RZ2 with more weight and time, and what about the RZ4? I would bet my left nut the RZ4 would love the VX.

Did you take shots without the VX? Might be nice to see side by side before and after pics. Just a suggestion.

Robert if you get the chance to sac out an RZ2 It likes the starboard side full then anywhere from 250lbs to 400 lbs in the port rear to make it stellar for Us goofy riders.. I love my RZ2

I have shots in my archives, but not at the same time. It was very hard to get through what we did with the downpour. You should have seen us all with the Mexican ponchos. You can see tony wearing one at end.

                          @ragboy,

Is the 2013 and 2014 VX the same other than the brackets? Is it simply changing out the brackets or does the dealer need to make mods to the VX itself? Just curious if you know. Our dealer has only recieved only 1 set in and they arrived damaged. Crossing fingers for better luck in our area soon. Thanks for all of your dedication to this and other issues.

The brackets for my VX are supposed to be delivered today !! Can't wait to try it out !

                            Ragboy,

How are you weighting the Z3 with the VX ?

I have the aftermarket rear sacks. I was thinking: Pro Bow bags full on both sides. Full on rear surf corner and fill up the hard tank on non surf side ?

The VX also needs to be modified. Basically, to accommodate the new angle the part that mates to the hull has to be modified to match and mate properly.

We use our own custom sacs, bigger than the wakemakers ones, and better fit. Fill front pro full, surf rear full and surf opposite to 10 degrees or so, and goofy you have less in opposite, needs like 12-13 to clean up. That is for 15+ feet of depth. We also have a custom taps plate that helps keep goofy clean and allow wake to adjust down a bit more.
