    Identification ???

Not an owner yet but have been researching as much as I can on this 1999 Tige 21V as I can. My earlier post have been in regards to the value and if its worth the $18000 firm the owner wants. Have yet to see the boat but now have some pics to share for you guys to determine and suggest if you would buy as well. So 99 21v Mercruiser 350 mag mli, around 670 hours owner is on vacation till saturday so he could only guess on that number over the phone. I have been told its in extremely great shape inside and out. Quick question but is a 21v, 2100v, 21v limited, 2100v riders edition all the same boat in 1999 or are their separate models that year and can anyone tell by the photos i have provided what boat model this is?

Thanks in advance as usual for the replies and hopefully I will be able to enjoy the boat off your comments rather then continually post questions and bothering you guys. I have only owned one boat prior to this, an 18 foot fourwinns runabout I purchased new in 2000 for $20000 and sold in 2011 for $15000. So I am being extremely cautious buying a 14 year old boat for $18000, but I know if I want a Tige this is going to be the only way to obtain one with my financial situation. I was amazed looking at new boats this week and cant even get another 18 foot runabout new for under $23000 and every wake boat company i looked at had a starting point of $45000! When I see all the Z24 owners on this site I wonder what I could have done different in life to be able to afford such a fine piece of machinery for my family but if you all agree that it looks ok and sounds ok once I am able to take a look at it this sunday then I will be just as happy with my 99 Tige and finally be back on the water after 4 years.

To answer the question if I recall correctly there was just one 21V in 99. It did come is different trim levels. I looked at them new in 99 and If I recall there was the 21V, 21V riders, and the 21V limited. Same boat, options was the difference.

Boat does appear to be clean. That is the problematic tower people talk about on here so make sure you take a good look at it. If you are not familiar with inboard boat I would suggest a professional pre-purchase inspection. I know you said its a friend of a friend kind of thing, but i'd have it checked out anyway. Tow boats are a different animal and if you don't know them well its best to have them checked over by someone who does. Good Luck!! Used to ride behind one of those back in the day.

Is it just me, or does it look like the tires are just about rubbing on the fenders?

      That boat looks very clean.
      Be excellent to one another.

Make sure to slide the pads around to inspect the tower for cracks. Pics look ok, trailer isnt the cleanest but its a trailer. Course pics never tell the full story either. You should be cautious on any used boat no matter if its 1 years or 14 years old. It all comes down to condition and how it was treated. And like they said even though its a friend of friend thining you still need to fully check it out. There could be something wrong or going wrong that they may not even know about yet.

Looks good to me. Except for the tower. I would just plan on replacing it IMO. If you do decide to replace the tower you would need new bimini top as well. Be sure to do an on the water test as well as having it checked out by a professional. Good luck!

I got crushed on a used boat this last year. I will NEVER buy again without having it inspected by the dealer. Offer to split the cost w the seller.

@dmbisbest...yes you did!! How is that new Z1 treating you?

@hogan..^^^^this guy is a prime example of why it pays to have an inspection. An independent inspection. The sellers dealer even told him the boat was good to go....and it wasn't. Little money spent up front can save you thousands in the long run.
