Should I be concerned? I am?

So the Tower is solid but I took these out today and noticed the threads on the front of the bolts are stripping. They are not cross threaded.

this is how mine were when I took delivery of the boat. When I look into the hole that the bolt goes into, it's not threaded on the far side of the tower so it's looks like it's supposed to be that way. When I unscrew the bolts, the cone shaped washer oftentimes ends up 1/3 of the way down the bolt, but i just screw the washer all the way back down. Otherwise, the first few times I put the tower back up, I thought that I was cross threading or something, but it was just that washer butting up against the screw hole which made it feel like the bolt wasn't threading properly.

My boat is 40 hrs old and I have noticed my bolt threads are stripping a little as well. Sometimes they are tough going in so I try to pull or lift the tower a little when screwing them in to find a spot of least resistance, hoping it will minimize the stripping.

That is the way they are designed from what I have noticed and been told.

chase the threads in the tower, have your dealer get you new bolts and use anti-seize when you reinsert them.

My 09 tower (bolts were added in 2010) looks the same.

I bought new bolts and they looked like that right out of the bag. They are designed that way.

X2 stainless on stainless will gall very fast. Anti-seize is your best friend.

They are designed that way. Your dealer should be explaining that upon delivery. I had the same worry when I took over my new boat 2 years go! Scary!
