    Traded in the 2009 Z1 for a 2013 Z1 - Surfing

I finally said screw the old boat and traded it in for a 2013... Local dealer made the numbers reasonable and I came to the conclusion that I needed a warranty! Too many issues w the 2009 (engine issues, tower broke, gas gauge didnt work, starter is out).

So now I am back on the water and my 5 year old got up surfing!

2013 w Pro Ballast and ConvexVX - Pic of the surf wake below (Full on surf side front and back, 50% on front of non surf side). Still playing with it though.

Congrats on the new boat. Keep in mind that there were some issues with the VX and it may need to go back to the dealer for adjustment once the new brackets arrive. It sounds as if the VX is mounted too low which is requiring too much additional weight. There is a thread referencing this.

Either way, with the warranty, your dealer will definatly be taking care of things for you. Enjoy! Would love to see some pics of the kiddo surfing, we are working on getting our 9 year old up.

Oh man, that looks nice, but wait til you see the pics of the Z1 wake with the VX corrected!

I will have some pics from testing tonight some time, and video not sure yet, may have to wait til I get home. We have been testing while wearing trash bags in a Texas downpour. Only 1 more boat to test...

If your 13 has the incorrect VX brackets you will have a much better wake by just removing the VX all together. From what Im told the new VX brackets will help out drastically. Both 13 Z1s I was behind surfing with Con VX had a shorter less tall surf then my RZR has.

How does one know or tell if they have the wrong brackets or not? Just asking as I'm planning a trip to a Tige Dealer in the near future and want to look for that on their inventory.
                Thanks

I dont know what to look for on the boat but I can tell you first hand from two 13 Z1s with VX that the wakesurf was pretty sad....not tall, not that long, and soft. From what I have been told this is due to the wrong brackets on them.

Our dealer told us the issue is with ALL Z series. Not sure if this is an issue with RZ(R) Series.

Below is a link with regards to this. On page 3 Rick Correll from Tige addresses this. We contacted our dealer about the issue on July 10th (about 2 weeks after delivery) and our boat is included. Our dealer followed up on Monday and was told our brackets would be about 7-10 days. It sounds as if Tige is very aware and will be doing everything they can ASAP to get the issue fixed.

Our Z1 sucks with the CVX on it, I finally ended up pulling it off last night so that we could actually surf behind it, we are running 1400 pounds on the surf side, pro ballast full up front on both sides, and just the hard tank full on the off side. This setup was without the CVX and the wave is really hard and pretty long. Another thing without the CVX you can actually adjust the wave with the TAPS, when the CVX was on you couldn't tell a difference between taps 1 and 8.

My dealer has said that they will swap out the brackets on the 20 hour service. We are well on our way with 12 hours on it since Saturday.

Should be interesting because I think the surf wave is pretty good already. Plus, the boat runs when I turn the key!
