Ready for Wake the Desert? TAPs R&D, Takoh and RJ airing it out

So we are getting ready for Wake the Desert in a week and are very excited. We are practicing but also doing some R&D on TAPs/Wake plates to find the most optimum design that goes with the Convex VX. After many variations we have come up with a plate that makes subtle visual difference until you see the kids on the wake. As RJ puts it, it makes the wake face even more solid before and the lip is even cleaner to launch from. I noticed it right away when filming him and Taco, they were getting higher than the last time we were out, and RJ was enjoying a different taps position than he normally does. We got out the go pro pole and had some fun. Check out a couple of pics.

Check the video for his biggest airs, but here is a great one.

The wake was exceptionally well formed and you can see it when Takoh gets out for her signature bottom turn, dubbed the Takoh Turn.

You can also see our special pole in that pic and we got some great shots in the video, here is Takoh getting some great air, more than I have seen her get before.

Here is the video, and if you are going to be anywhere in Texas this coming weekend, come out and say hi to all of us.

Here are a bunch of the TAPs plates we have played with.

This is a great pic for breaking down a bottom turn. Would be neat to see a sequence from rear top through turn. She really has that down
