How fast are you riding in the pic above and now?

How much bow weight are you riding with in the pic above and now?

Are you currently using your top secret wake thingy?

Right now Im still messing with with my designs.. The pictures above is 12.0 400lbs bow port side no weight on starboard port locker 250lbs hard tank and 600Lbs stock bag.

Now setups are 600lbs starboard bow ur custom bags in both lockers. so full rear starboard bag and hard tank then whatever I have for rider weight (meaning if I have 600lbs passangers in the boat On the starboard side I add 600 lbs to port side bags. Taps plate on -1 or 0 speed 12.6-12.8 (taps is moddified to go lower)

Port side now is port bow 600lbs lockers ur custom sac full and hard tank full all passangers on port side NO starboard weight other than driver speed 12.4-12.8 depending on plate position can be from 1-5 depending on height the rider wants

I tried your set up and it improved my wave. Now I have custom ballast bags on both rear sides. We can ride about 15 feet behind the deck on the port side and about 12 to 13 feet behind the deck on the starboard side. We ride at 11.6 mph and Taps on 3. But we fill both front bags full and off side rear under floor tank only. I'll try your new set up and let you know how it does.
I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

You guys ride fast. I only can ride 10.8 to 11 depending on people in the boat. Any faster and I need way more weight and wake is splashy. These speeds wake is beefy, hard and clean. I guess lake depth has lots to do with it.

2009 RZ2, 1000 lb rear locker sack surf side, 250 lb rear internal surf side, 400 lb bow surf side (probably fills only to 300lb), ~150 lb bow off side. Taps 1-2 for mellow transition, Taps 3-4 for more wall. Depth ~12-15 feet.

12.6 mph for Walker Project F-18
11.6 mph for LakeWakes Big Boy
10.8 mph for skim style board.

Wick...I understand that most do not compete, But as my Son is starting to pick it up..the slower you go the more time on the course you have for tricks...At the EWT we start out at 11 and allow the rider to adjust from there.

This may not be important to you, just thought I'd throw it out there..

Then coarses should be longer cause a long ridable wave is where its at. Guess the ewt is not for guys like me. Longer and bigger for me.. my setup that does that but it effects the wakeboard wake.. getting closer tho.. but a fixed vx is not the anwser that's for sure.. think ill )have mine ready in about two weeks then after I finish the patent papers ill post it up.. don't want to be jacked all my hard work by companies will all the coin..

My setup is 250 lb hard under floor tank, 1100 lb W719 sac in the locker (almost full on the bag, probably about 900 lbs total) and the bow U-shaped 400 lb sac full, speed is 11.6-11.8, taps at 4, give or take a little on the speed depending on how many people on the boat, with an empty boat I have a 150lb sac on the sun pad above the locker and a 150 on the bow surf side seat.

I hear what you guys are saying about the speed but it's how I get the longer pocket.

Those speeds are a bit fast for us, but don't let me tell you what to do. ;-) If that's what gets your groove on, then cool. I think some tricks really lend themselves to that 11 mph range, over 11.4 and it can hinder that. Weight up front can help with the longer pocket, but can hinder push, so there are always trade offs. The one very positive thing that we noticed right away with the VX is that the wave doesn't get drastically shorter when you slow down or put the taps up. The wake will get steeper and a bit shorter if you go from say taps 2-6, but if you do the same thing without the VX on the Z3, the wake will shorten much more. The wake still gets steeper and has more power, it just doesn't shorten much at all. You can look at that video we just did, and you see RJ surf in the beginning, and then I get out there with my huge mass and the wake looks just about as long. I ride at taps 5 or 6 to get that extra push, and RJ rides at 2-3 to get a wake that he can do his tricks on better. I am also riding slower. He rides at 11.2 and I am riding at 10.8 but the wake still is very long and you can see me get way back there. Also, when RJ is riding, I am in the boat and then vice versa. There is a ~ 240 lb difference in our weights.

                            Pics:

We filled up the sacks, nothing else, I went first. I came in, RJ went out. No change in weight except our bodies. I rode 10.8 taps 5-6, he rode 11.2 taps 2-3. Same camera same angle. RJ is farther back, but only because he can ride farther back, the wake is not much shorter if at all. With the RZ2, when we had a big guy, and we put taps all the way up, the wave just shortened WAY up, same with the Z3 without VX, but not as bad.
