    New TAPS plate design

I took my TAPS plate off today in order to fabricate a completely new mount for the hydraulic ram that is taller than the factory one. I've been using some spacers for awhile to move the mounting position up and give me more usable range.

Now that I have it off, I'm wondering if anyone has played around with any different shaped plates and had good luck with them. It seems like I remember Ragboy having a different plate on his Z3 but I don't remember much being mentioned about how it performed.

I would think that with the function of the plate to just give upward lift to the rear of the boat, that various shapes would not be helpful. It is just a matter of simple surface area of the plate. I bet that most people think like I do and have not given it a second thought.

Do you have an idea up your sleeve that might help it perform better?
    Be excellent to one another.

We have been playing with about 7 or 8 designs, not ready to talk about just yet, but been lots of fun.

IIRC, Centurion has something that they call a winged plate.

I adjusted mine so it would give me taps .5...i wish I could have a taps 0 and -1! It helps keep the nose from bouncing as I head across the lake to my sweet spots. Empty, Taps .5 is fine...but full of people you can get an occasional bounce.

Let me know if you come up with something!

I saw one on a certain Z3 that looked like it was the factory one mounted upside down...and with different mounting holes.

Ive played with a few different designs. Works real well with an extension on the starboard side to the port side wake.. but does not do much the other way

First of all, we have been testing with the VX, but a few of the designs worked good without the VX, help reduce wash. I would say we have done a fair bit of testing, did our final test tonight, and I think we have landed on something that works well.
