Guess I am going to have to take my straightedge and measuring tape to pic up my boat.
Kind of depressing my dealer has no idea what I am talking about.

Great people, but they aren't Ski boat people by any means.
I miss the people my Malibu and Nautique dealers at times like this

According to the release I received from factory only the Z1 and Z3 brackets have been recalled.

I mesured yesterday as shown in the other pages and I have exactly 4"...I suppose it is good ?

I just picked up my z3 on the 4th of July I am so disappointed with the boat I don't know where to begin! But I will throw out this if any one cares! 1 the surf wake is terrible no matter what weight speed or setup you try! 2 the throttle is the worst pos I've ever used! 3 the battery setup and switch is defective and poorly engineered. 4 The Bluetooth is pitiful and works 10% of the time. 5 the tige touch is to bright to see at night you must stand up clearly no one tested it! 6 the turning radius is so bad I can't rotate the boat safely in the harbor between the horrible throttle and what seems like possibly to small of a rudder I'm wondering who approved this boat and what the US Coast Guard will say when I drop by with it.
I'd like my money back and an apology and some one should be fired!

I noticed both of the Z1s that I drove had a huge turning radius also.....Do you have any pics of your boat? I never got a chance to try the bluetooth on a 13 boat yet.

Sorry to hear your POS boat. Where are you located? Sounds like your dealer might have let you down. Does your boat have the convex VX? Did you read this entire thread about the issues with the 2013 CVX? Sounds like Tige is having some manufacturing issues and is going to replace brackets to fix everyones CVX, then you will get that sweet surf wave everyone is talking about.

Is this your first inboard? I have not heard anyone else complain about a turning radius in a harbor, I assume you mean tight quarters handling? The torque of the prop pushes the side of the boat when maneuvering slowly, that's why it only backs up to the right, but it also turns one direction faster than the other when it's going forward at slow speeds too. You also have to try to keep some water moving over the rudder for it to be effective, it doesn't turn very well with the throttle in idle moving slowly around docks. It takes some getting used to but I can maneuver my boat in some very tight spots, you just have to anticipate the pull of the torque from the prop.

The Tige touch at night has been addressed in other threads on TO, I don't know if there is a setting or a fix but if you search there should be some answers here, or maybe your dealer can help show you how to set it up better for night driving.

So if you watched the video I just did, I went and took pictures of the boat's VX of each we tested. Here is the one from the RZR, you can see is not quite all the way back, I would say this is 5".

Well...thats a great first post, 1. Where are you using the boat? Shallow water, deep water, area with a strong current? There is something here causing a problem and very well possibly could be your set up so tell us what you have all tried for speed, ballast, taps, etc. 2. The throttle pos cause its sicks or is stiff? How many hours on the boat?, 3. Where does is the defect? 4. Sounds like you need a TigeTouch update I have 0 Problems with mine. 5. Why don't you dim the TigeTouch you go into the setting menu and screen brightness adjust it down to five, and then simply go to the home screen and push/hold the top right button and it dims?, 6. Turning radius is bad I agree my Z3 isn't the greatest but it is also a 23ft inboard with my new prop handling improved significantly.

Yes it does have Tige VX and it is probably got the wrong mounts as far as weighting and my boat has the rear 1000 Enzo sacs plus front pro set up it should make a perfect wake yet it is unsurfable as it sits! I have tried everything possible! No this is not my first boat nor my first surf boat! My comments are not even based on my opinion alone! Who's ever gone surfing alone! The settings on the tige touch don't dim very much at all!
This boat is going back one way or the other! I won't except this for what I paid no one should have to fix there boat all summer when it is three weeks old! I hope this doesn't get ugly but if they don't take it back its gonna happen!

Ok, are you new to surfing? My buddy had trouble going rope less on his Bu and asked me to help him dial in the wake. We spent an hour, got a nice wave but he still couldn't ride rope less because he just learned how to get up. I was able to ride his wave just fine.

Unfortunately, tige makes it seem like you get their boat, ballast is done and you can have a wave like Ragboy. If you've followed his threads you'll see Ragboy goes above and beyond the basic setup that tige sells, that any boat manufacturer sells. So it's not just about having a big wave and you can surf, you have to spend some time on the water and learn to do it, there is lots of technique.

I'm sorry to hear about your other issues with the boat, I hope your dealer makes it right for you.

Well, that's a very disappointed customer. Can't say as I blame you. Have you spoken with your dealer regarding the issues you're experiencing? An Acme #1235 prop would make a world of difference. Tigé's are shipped with a run of the mill cruising prop. Very few people purchase a Tigé for cruising purposes. Can't say as I've ever experienced any problems with the factory battery switch/installation. What are your issues with that?

I hope Tige makes it right for you. I hate to hear this and Im sure Tige hates hearing about unhappy customers. From what I have seen this year from all of my Michigan Tige dealers is the boats they get have several issues. I passed on getting a 2013 Tige from what I have seen at dealers around me. Did you demo the boat before you bought it? Any pictures of it?

                            Hi Killian,

I was were you are 4 weeks ago. Here is what I posted on wake9 after my first week out, it has most of the details.

                            http://wake9.com/community/showthrea...-first-day-out

I can't tell you how upset I was. I wanted my money back just like you. Garbage wave for sure. When I heard that they realized the brackets were wrong on the VX I was both very angry and very happy.
Angry because I wasted 3 or 4 weeks trying to fix the unfix-able. Happy because finally I might get the wave I thought I was buying without having to go to the dealer and lay the smack-down for a return as the wave the way it was, was not acceptable.

Fast forward to the wave with the new VX brackets. With 3 people in the boat custom sacs in the back with wave was almost identical the the Wake9 vids with no tinkering at all. The wave is better than what I thought I was buying. It is more than 3 times as long as the Centurion I had for 5 years and waaaay more push. My back leg was sore from putting the bakes on so much so I didnt run into the back of the boat.

I know you are not happy, all I would say is get the dealer to swap the brackets out asap and try it, you wont be disappointed.

A call out to Johnathan from Redline for getting the brackets swaped out as quick as he did.

Can't stop smiling the wave is that good.

Well I got the new brackets installed on my Z3, went to the lake and started cruising at 25-28mph to the surf spot (3/4 mile) and the engine started making noise so I stopped. Started the engine to try and figure out what the noise is and it sounds like the crank/rod bearings are shot. It is banging and clanging away. After trying to paddle for 30min and making no progress finally a jet ski pulled me to the launch where me and my friends jumped out and walked the boat to the trailer as I didn't want to run it at all. I have 35 hours on the boat and can't believe this happend. I baby this thing like you wouldn't believe and this happens to me. This is my first boat ever and I am so sick and ******* tired of it I may be done boating all together. First it was I needed more weight for the vx, then the brackets were wrong now the motor is fucked. Spent 100k on this thing and its just a headache. Going to dealer tomorrow morning, hoping for the best.

I am going to try and address the original reason for this post....Convex VX Issues.
We have a 2013 Z1 ordered with the VX. Like others, I was disappointed with the surf wave (we do love the boat) and did figure that some of the issue is that we have very little experience wakesurfing (trying to understand that WE may be the issue). Just to try it, we took the VX off of our boat earlier this week and went out in high 50s temps, wind and overcast yesterday to try it without, afterall, the Tiges were surfable before the VX.

with Stock Pro ballast, we ran the following:
100% surf side, front and rear
                                50% opposite surf side front
                                0-25% opposite rear

There were 4 of us, so 3 left in the boat. I do notice that the rear bags will trap a lot of air, so we fill until overflow then hang for a bit and push some of the air out of the bag then FILL it up.

2nd time up yesterday, I was able to drop the line and did so several times. I was able to ride back, guessing 4-6 feet further back than with the VX. Previously, I could only get the "sweet spot" feel with the nose of the board almost on the platform.

Now we have a boat we can surf and I am sure it will only get better when Tige follows through and gets the correct brackets to our dealer. Can't wait.
"I think I am pretty smart for an idiot"
