Thank you to all of our loyal Tige' family members. We have been chasing an issue that was brought to our attention by several of our members. That issue is that the Convex VX was not providing the push that you were accustomed to in a Tige'. Thanks to Wake 9 and a great deal of research and testing we have discovered that the brackets on the first sets were made at the wrong angle and flattened the wake reducing the push. We are recalling all of the brackets and replacing them at our cost with new brackets at the correct setting. Please arrange with your local dealer to get the brackets installed. We truly appreciate all of our customers and their dedication to our brand and the sport of wake surfing, we also are completely dedicated to our customers and the sports they pursue.

    Thank you, Rick Correll

          @correll - Mr Correll,
Can you let us all know how the production status of the replacement components are progressing? More specifically when our dealers may see the replacement components.

Aside from this, I would like to thank you and Tige for your candidness with regards to this issue. As a consumer I greatly appreciate working with a company that is willing to admit that there is an issue, especially being an oversight by them, and also stepping up and doing what they can to fix the issue ASAP, not stepping around the issue. As much as all of us want to get the benifit of the feature we paid for, I do hope that everyone will understand that producing a new part and assuring it is correct will take some time.

Tige is different than any company that you will ever deal with. I have seen it first hand. They take care of there customers.

When I bought my boat this year, Jean had a small badge installed in my boat that reads, "Handcrafted and Quality built for the Dietrich Family". Every time someone steps into the boat that is the first thing they see and are totally blown away by it. Had a family in the boat working with them on wakesurfing. They had just bought a new 2013 Xstar. After sitting in the boat, silently looking around, in awe of the wake surf wake, the daughter said why does our boat not have a badge like that, the owner said "mastercraft just dont care" "I think I need to buy a different boat".

Thank you Rick. However it is still unclear who exactly is affected by this. Does everyone who purchased a new boat this year with convex VX need to replace their brackets? It sounds that way but I want to make sure before deciding what I should do in the short term

Edit - this does indeed sound like it affects everyone. Yikes!

If you want to post a picture of that measurement, I can tell you. But if you have the R20 with the 2013 production brackets (produced before this week) then you will want the new ones.

I can tell you that we tested an RZR with the 2013 brackets/VX and the new 2014 Brackets/VX and you WANT them, the R20/RZR with VX on old brackets was ok, but the RZR/R20 on the new one, the way it was meant to be, the way we have seen it, is amazing. Look at it this way, for a little trouble, when you see the wake, you are going to feel like you have a new boat.

I am sorry I don't have pictures or video yet, I have it all saved on my mac here. I am in San Angelo now for the Wake the Desert event and it will be hard to put together any video until I get back, but I may be able to, I have some incredible footage.

I will do my best to put up some pictures tonight when I get back to my hotel room, I have already sorted through a lot, so it shouldnt be too hard.

For the record, we have tested every boat now except the RZ4. EVERY boat has a better surf wake with the VX, than without. And we have surfed every one of those boats with and without the VX, and we have surfed every one of those boats with the wrong brackets and with the correct ones (except the RZ4). We have been testing in the rain, sometimes a downpour while wearing trashbags and trying to stay warm. Doing this to make sure the new brackets are approved and get get going to customers as quick as possible. Tony Fussel himself has been the one in the boats with us to drive, aid, verify, and just be Tony.

That said, it is understandable there is disappointment that yours is not right, but mistakes happen and the level of commitment Tige boats is showing to rectify, and verify the new brackets are correct is admirable.

RJ and I are truly excited to see everyone get to ride the best wakesurf wakes out there.

I look forward to seeing a Tige with the correct brackets on a Con VX. I know I test drove a 13 Z1 that had the incorrect VX brackets and supposidly the brackets were lower on one side then the other and the boat was not fun to drive while cruising. The boat would cruise at about a 13-15 degree list.

I'm Picking up my R20 on Weds.
Is there anyway to tell the brackets apart or is it best to just measure?

Has anyone got their brackets replaced yet? I have the 20 hour service upcoming on my Z1 and want to make sure that it gets done at the same time.

The brackets are available. Your dealer should be able to place the order and see them in about 4 - 5 business days.

Just spoke with someone at the dealer who said to their knowledge the recall is only with the z series, and not for the rzr/r20. So this issue remains blurry for me.

I have a hard time believing that.
The mounting points are basically the same on all boats, so did they build different convex vx hook ups for each hull?

I surfed the RZR with the 2013 Production brackets, and then with the new 2014 settings. The 2013 brackets exhibited the same issues as the 2013 Z1 brackets and were not correct. You want the 2014 brackets.
