'13 Z3 Stereo on when turn the engine off?

First time poster ( newbie)...

I searched around on this thread and most likely this is a user error, but is there an easier way to turn the engine off then using the key so the radio doesn't turn off?

Yes you could use the safety strap, but it seems strange that I dont have an Accessories like feature on a car...

no, unfortunately. "RUN" is to the right and "ACC" is to the left of "OFF".

It is possible to wire the head-units turn-on wire to a rocker switch, but the down side is, the TT will not power up, so you do not have your stereo controls at the helm.

To me this is a huge issue with Tige Touch. The same ACC/OFF/RUN key position plagued our 2009 RZ2 -- I got so sick of music interrupts when turning off the boat everytime a rider got in or out of the water, I hardwired the stereo components away from the ignition (09 does not have TT). But as chpthril points out, this is not possible for TT.

Is there no way to wire TT away from ignition?

hmmmm thats not good... With the bluetooth option we have to re-connect the device everytime we shut off the radio / engine... makes the bluetooth un-usable. If I knew that I wouldnt have not bought the bluetooth option.

If it makes you feel any better, this is a scenario played out with other brands that have integrated the stereo into their display monitors.

Buy a wet sounds ws420sq. I think you can buy some sort of bluetooth attachment. Then you wont have to worry

No more music interrupts. I guess people that do not complain about this either just don't care or do not turn the boat off when a rider goes in or out (the latter is a big no-no in my opinion).

With our direct power, I just make sure the breakers are off under the bow and the isolator is off in the rear locker whenever the boat is not in use. I also have an onboard battery tender to keep the batteries topped off.

A simple rocker with LED illumination is all that needed, and maybe a relay to carry a load, and yur done. Its just a matter of knowing which wire to the TT is the switched B+.

I have an '11 with TT and don't see this as much of a problem. I listen to an iPod connected either to the head unit or directly to the WS-420. Either way, when I turn from ON to ACC, the music stops for maybe a second and then starts up at the same spot. Not a big deal for me, but I guess it's a personal preference thing. The Bluetooth disconnection is a different story - that would suck.

Wired in a traditional manor, the WS-420 is turned on/off via the same turn-on circuit as the amps, which is controlled by the head-unit. So the scenario still exists, the WS-420 will power down, then back up, as the key is rotated from run to ACC, etc.

Down side of bypassing the head-unit with your MP3, is that you loose the 2V output from the head-unit into the WS-420. With the MP3 direct to the SW-420, you are running on about .5V at best maybe.

And, unless I misunderstand the suggested configuration, you lose remote control volume and have to rely on the tiny knob on the WS-420.

If committed to running into the WS-420 directly, consider an HRT iStreamer. You will get greatly improved RCA audio output in terms of sound quality and voltage. I put this device in and think it was a fantastic upgrade (note, I do not run directly into the WS-420).
