    Lake Powell 2013

Here are Some Pics from Lake Powell last week. We stayed at Halls Crossing, went to Rainbow bridge (40mile drive one way), Fueled up at Dangling rope Marina (got the T-shirt) then found some awesome scenic canyons! Five days, it was awesome!G0030167.jpgG0050693.jpgG0020368.jpgG0020252.jpgIMG_4117.JPGG0030769.jpgG0030727.jpgG0030509.jpgG0030468.jpgG0080894.jpg

I think it was, you get to drive through so much of the lake to get there. Great View! Once there it's only about 1mile hike to the Bridge. We left the kids with my Sis playing by the water while we hiked to the Bridge.. Too much for little kiddos when it's that HOT!! Have fun!

We got to Rainbow Bridge very time we go to Powell.

It is well worth the trip.

We are making our fourth houseboat trip to Powell this year.

I've heard that the water is too low for the cutoff out of Wahweap. Can anyone confirm that.

Yes it is closed. Despite the fact that they excavated it down another 10 feet or so.

Vic - looks like a great time!

Dang, water level is down! We went 2 years ago and it was a few hundred feet from where we docked the boat, didn't even need to get off the boat if you didn't want to.

I was there last week as well on the Wahweap side. Castle Rock Cut definitely closed. However, there was about two feet of water in it. If only they would have excavated another 8 or so....

Too bad the bottom isn't sand. It would be worth while to just walk the boat thru the cut off.

I agree. However, with the water level falling, I'm sure that really wouldn't be an option right now even if it were sandy.

We usually go for two weeks in July every year.
The last three years have only been a week. Work has taken me out of the country quite a bit. It really cuts into my Powell time. I was planning on two week this year but as I am typing this my time share starts tomorrow and I am out of the country. It looks like only one week again.
I could not pass this trip up even for Powell. I had 4 days business in Germany and with the air miles my wife and I were able to leaves the kids at home for the first time in 16 years. We sacrificed a week in Powell for a week in Dubravnik Croatia (kid free)after Munich. We are headed home Monday and of to Halls on Tuesday. As nice as the Adriatic Sea is its no Lake Powell ! I can't wait to be my own boat
You bet wakeboarding and motocross will drain the wallet in a hurry ,but not near as fast as teenage rehab
