Metcraft Tower Racks and/or bungies/straps for tower.

I took the new to me 2000 21i Riders Edition out for my first wakeboard session today. What a great wake. I have the stock Metcraft tower (see photo) with the inverted rope post and the hooks to put the boards on top of the tower. I am missing the original straps to secure the boards. I ordered 2 tower racks from Monster Tower with the universal inserts however even the 1 1/2" smallest insert was too large and the tower slid down on the Metcraft tower.

    1. Is there a tower rack that will fit on my Metcraft tower? Looks to be 1 1/4" diameter. I have not contacted Monster yet to see if they have a smaller plastic insert (it is the weekend now).

    2. Is there somewhere that I can purchase the original tower straps to mount the boards on top of the Metcraft tower.

    3. Has anyone come up with a way to secure the boards to the racks with a bungie or similar product?

At some point I'd like to upgrade to an Aerial or Monster tower but I just bought the boat and had the interior/mechanical stuff all redone so my bank account is crying. I'd like to use the stock Metcraft for the rest of these season. I would like the get the boards off the floor ASAP.

Yes - by the way that is a rag in the fuel filler. LOL I bought a new gas cap since the photo was taken. I dropped the old one in the water as it was not attached to it's chain for some reason when I was filling up....

    Thanks,Phone 2013 031.jpg

The old Wake Designs racks work. I have no idea where you would find some. Besides my garage. I use them.

I'm sure you could shim out those Monsters with something.

You'll never find any original parts for that tower. I'm sure you could make some pads up along with some straps if you had to.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Easiest thing is just order some pads and screw some straps to the top. It holds boards pretty good that way. Trying to get a rack to grab the small tube can be tough. Im loving the gas cap by the way. Been there a few times in the past.

Thank you for the information. Any idea on a good source to get pads and straps? I'll do a search now but if you know where I can purchase them that would be great!

straps are simple buckle style you can get at any camping section. Just need enough lenght to cover the with of the board/Pad. Then they are screwed into the top of the tower. Far as pads I think I saw a guy on ebay saleing tower pads in diffent legths pretty cheap
