2013 RZ2 or Z1

Hey all, thoughts on 2013 RZ2 or 2013 Z1. Pretty much equipped the same, the Z1 might be a grand or 2 cheaper.

It sounds like the Rz2 might be getting a makeover for 2014 and the Z1 was just refreshed in 2013.

Thoughs?? Opinions??

hold out if going to an RZ model... not going to say.. but I have this odd feeling(LOL).. that you will see both RZ models in the next year change ... lol

look for chrisbarnes on here.. he just bought a 2013 Z1.. and loves it.

RZ2 is going to feel quite a bit bigger in the cabin than the Z1. The Z1 looks to throw a beautiful surf wave though. Are you more of a surfer or wakeboarder? I love my RZ2 but that Z1 is a pretty sweet boat!

I was thinking about the RZ2 because it values for like almost 10k higher than a Z1 and if they are basically the same price...and I know the RZ models will be getting overhauled here soon which is probably why I am getting such a good price.

I did notice the cabin does look a lot bigger in the RZ2 than the Z1 and right now would probably be surfing more than anything else..but is the Z1 surfwake really that much better than an RZ2 surfwake??

right now they are both new 2013's for less than $70k. The z1 does have the convex surf enhancer where the RZ2 does not but I know that can be added in the future if need be. Both have the 343. I keep going back and forth and cannot make up my mind!!

if you can buy a new 2013 RZ2 for less than $70K, I'd buy it all day long over the Z1.......I've never heard anybody wanting to get a bigger boat after having an RZ2, I have heard of 2 foot-itis coming out of a Z1

Maybe I'm just buyist because I just bought the z1. But I would go with the z1 over the rz2 and would go with a z3 over the rz4. I realize the z1 is 6 inches shorter than the rz2, but I have seen both on the inside and I'm telling you there is not much difference. Now before they redesigned the z1 this year I could see people maybe complaining about the smaller feel. But I just could not see anyone saying this boat has a small feel to it.Also in my opinion the back of the z1 smokes the rz2 when it comes to style!Where do you live ironpeddlar?

Buy the one you love, buying a boat has no common sense involved and its easier paying for something you love. How will you feel next year when Tige no longer makes your boat or overhauled the boat you just bought if buy the Rz2? I love my Z1, 2013 and has no convex vx and I don't feel the need for it either. I wakeboard quite a bit too and that it does well too.

AS far as I know its pretty for sure this is the last year of the RZ2. Thats why you are being offered the deal you are. Definately going to hurt resale on the boat. Considering my 2013 was made in July of 2012 I would say they are done making the current RZ2.

Also you have to look at the pricing. You said they are close, but where is the Z1 priced? is this a 70K z1 or a low 60's Z1?

But I think most will agree you are getting the deal on the RZ2 as the dealer doesn't want to be sitting on 13's when the 14 is redesigned and everyone wants the new one.

Take them both out for a test drive and ride behind both and see which one you like better, that's always the best approach! I think if they are making a new RZ2 that we won't see it until later this year like they did with the Z1.

Testing driving them would be great but will be almost impossible. The nearest Tige dealer is hundreds of miles away so I am pretty much buying sight un-seen. Looking for advice here!

The RZ2 is awesome but if im spending that much money I would be perturbed if someone rolled up next to me 1 year later and had a brand new redesigned one. With the z1 surely there wont be a change for 5 years or so

thats why I am holding out for the new RZ4 !!
