I'm not sure what problems you are having? I mounted mine to my tower. The bolts are long but they just hang out longer. Are they hitting your speakers or something? Do you have any pictures? I had to use an open end wrench since the bolts were so long.

The alpha z essentially has a shroud around the pylon that prevents me from sliding the clamping blocks in. This shroud is just the formed tower that raises up in the back to the height of the pylon. In addition, even if I got the clamping pieces in and around the pylon the long bolts would hit the shroud when the release rotated, like someone cutting hard. It looks like I need to raise the pylon on the tower in order to use this to get above the formed tower.

Was hoping I was missing something, but as of now don't see a way to install it. Limited to a smartphone and bad cell service so pics might be difficult.

I bet the Malibu guys would know.
        Would something like this work?

That will suffer the same fate as the release. The gap between the tower and the pylon is only slightly thicker than a rope. Some type of u bolt system might mount it.

So has anyone been able to mount their Comptech Safety Release to an Alpha Z tower?

I don't know. Has anyone tried SkySki yet? Isn't it the same tower that is/was on the Malibus?

Still working through sky ski for an answer. I think a taller pylon will need to be installed. I'd be interested if anyone else figured something out.

Couldn't you just put a short metal sleeve on top of the pylon to give it enough length to attach the release? I doubt it would ever slide upward and off, but you could then put a bolt through one side so that it could not slide up. The pylon is quite short on my tower too, so I wait with eagerness for mine to come next week.

There is a guy on the Foilforum that is looking for one of these. Rather than send it back if you cannot make it fit, I can hook you up with someone who will buy it. Send me a private message and I will get you his contact information.

I'd rather get mine working but I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.

I had a similar situation with mine. The anchor light sits right in front of the pylon. The bolts were too long and would hit it when the release rotates. I just turned the bolts so that the long end sticks out by the release and the nut is on the back. Problem solved.

So I just reversed the bolt in this picture and it now shouldn't be any trouble. Has anyone got a picture of the Alpha Z pylon?

Why not hack saw the ends of the bolts off and refresh the threads?

Because reversing the bolts took me about 20 seconds, and I am not that fast with a hacksaw. That would certainly work as well.

If this works here's a pic I snapped of the Alpha Z.
