Finally received and installed my faux teak SeaDek pads for the transom seat and walk thru. Not pictured are two pieces on the bow covering the textured jump off spots. The new eight pieces match the swim platform pad I installed beginning of last season.
A few lessons learned. First, if drawing your own templates, do not feel the need to stick to the existing textured surface for the shape of the pad. There are a few spots I wish I had gone a little bigger. Second, when installing, resist the temptation to stretch the material. You can do it, but once the adhesive cures up, the stretched edge recedes a few millimeters leaving a very small amount adhesive residue.
Comments -- amazing upgrade and I wish I had done it years ago. I LOVE the aesthetics of the look. And functionally it makes all the difference in the world. Also, I strongly prefer the port/starboard cut lines rather than bow/port -- for some reason, SeaDek was surprised I wanted that orientation.
