Wow. sorry to hear about the loss and my prayers go out to all the families and friends involved. I can only imagine what they are going through. it is a reminder that we all need to be aware of our surroundings at all times. Sometimes like riding a motorcycle it is the others that you need to watch out for. I have so much more of an understanding of the concerns when my dad would pull us skiing. Best wishes to you Heli-Doc. Stay safe all.

Here is a clip describing the family and putting some faces to the ones lost. Sounds like an incredible family!

So here is what happened. Another one of our houseboat partners got a phone call from Adrian and here is what he told him:
They were in the main channel going towards Rainbow Bridge. They were coming near a spot that they wanted to show the grand kids a place that looks like dinosaurs. (6 grand kids were in the boat) Adrian was looking down at the grand kids, when at last minute saw a large houseboat coming head on. He was traveling a about 30 miles an hour but quickly turned to the left but hit the houseboat with a glancing blow. It took the total front right side of his Crownline off and the boat capsized. Marilyn hit something hard and was killed instantly. It is unsure whether Valery (Matt’s G-friend) and Jessica were injured or just drowned. There were the 6 grand kids all in the front of the boat and most were thrown out at impact. Two of the grandkids were under the boat after it capsized and Adrian pull them out. The people in the boat were: Adrian, Marilyn, Jessica, Valery, Matt, Stacey, Chris and six grandkids. It is a miracle that more were not hurt or killed. Valery and Jessica have not been found as of Saturday morning. Adrian feels terrible because he feels like it is his fault. He said he should have been watching more carefully.
So unfortunately this was a case of distraction. Adrian is one of the nicest people that I know, and I can't imagine this happening to them. I spoke to him on the phone yesterday for a few minutes, and amazingly he was able to keep it together during our conversation, and he was trying to apologize to me because the houseboat would not be as clean as is should be for when we go out on it next week! That was the last thing that I was concerned about. Easy enough to clean up a houseboat compared to what he is going through. Amazing individual, I feel so bad for him.
Thank you everyone for the kind words, thoughts, and prayers during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with the Jackman family as well.

I confided in my kids before our most recent houseboat trip how I am always a little scared when going there.
This is a good reminder as to how quickly things change, and to drive your boat like you would a car, as far as how you pay attention.Be excellent to one another.
