2009 RZ2 W/ Catanium catalytic converter

Is they a way to tell if my RZ2 has a Catanium catalytic converter? I'm selling it and a person from Cali wants it. But they must have the converter.

Very, very easy.

Open the engine compartment and look. The CAT exhaust components are silver and have enormous metal stickers that say "Catanium". The standard exhaust components are black and don't have the stickers.

Here is a photo (taken when I was installing our wet PSS shaft seal, hence the cut hose) that shows one side. You can see the other side in the upper right corner.

That law applies to used sales also? That would surprise me (even for California).

For what it's worth, mine says "Catanium" right across the top of the engine.

My 2009 RZ2 with Catanium 409 also has the silver exhaust components and big sticker.

Missing from WABoating's pic is the plastic engine cover stretching between the exhaust components -- that plastic cover might say Catanium also but I do not recall.

The option was many thousands of dollars so I doubt many boats outside of Cali have it. Though in Missouri, we got it because I wanted to scrub CO for surfing.

Yes, my plastic cover also says it. I have a 2011, though.

Only when sold as new, right If yours was originally destined for somewhere other then CA, your 09 may not have been fitted with a CAT motor, since CA was the first state to require it.
