Nice work, Dave! The board looks awesome. You should be proud. Looks like it even rides pretty nice. Although, with that wake you could probably surf a wheel barrow and it would go alright.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Hey guys thanks for the interest in my project. To answer a few questions. It basically started as pieces of 2x6 Redwood glued together and the then planed down with a hand planer and the hand sanded to its final shape. The dimensions are 6' by 21" at the widest point and about 1-3/8" thick. All I used to seal it was Tung oil so we will see how long it holds up. But after surfing it for a few days and seeing how well it works I will be making another one for sure. No new mods to the boat other than working on the perfect mud flap. Nickypoo we need to get together for another surf so you can try it out.

Oh sheesh, I really need to drive the idea of this project OUT of my mind before I take it up. Must ... resist.

          Again, really amazing work.

The fin box is a standard longboard fin box. 10-1/2" so it uses standard fins. The one I used it out of one of my 9' ocean boards. Duncan its a fun project but it takes alot of work. I think I probably have at least 25hrs into it.

Im guessing 25lbs. You want to make sure you don't hit the back of the boat with it. Lol

Beautiful board. That wave is slick too.

That thing was the talk of the West coast open. It was nice to meet you Dave and thanks again for letting us use that 400# sac. Still getting our wake dialed in. Just got 400# of lead for those hidden back corners we talked about on the Z1. Thanks again

It was good to meet you guys and get to hang out and surf a bit. We will have to do it again. Thanks the woody sure is fun to surf. Glad you got some lead to try out in there. Yeah that 400lb sac was just a standard v-drive sac if you want to find one of the same. Pretty sure its a Fly High W701. Let me know how it works out and if I can help out in any way feel free to ask away. Have fun with your sweet new Z1. I'm jealous.
