Taps failure?

The taps stopped working but is in the full up position. I can hear the pump running but no dice. The gauge is also flipping from 1 to 8 non stop back and forth. The breaker was tripped so I reset it but no dice. Any ideas?

Anytime I ever had problems w taps it was always the wiring in my shifter. Sometimes you could go up but not down. Or down not up. The wiring is thin and tends to ground every now and then causing a short.

Definitely check the fluid level. Also try calibrating TAPS.

I had the same problem early on with my boat and it ended up being the TAPS solenoid which the dealer replaced. Luckily, mine was stuck at 3 so we could actually still use the boat.

\there is a set of 3 wires that runs up the throttle arm to the button it is common that the 3 wires will short out and burn up the relay module that controlls the taps if that what has happend i can help you with that my 2000 tige 21v was like that when i bought it

Our boat did this as well ended up being the small fuse thats in the cables that lead to the throttle

I checked all the fuses. No dice. I will try to trouble shoot the solenoid tomorrow by hot wiring it as they recommend. Gauge is what is really throwing me thru a loop as I said the motor is running.

Hello there, Adevine87!
If possible I'd like to hear about the fix on the 2000 tige 21v taps relay. I have a 2001 tige 20i and I believe I have a defective relay. I recently replaced the wire harness and carling switch in the throttle and verified continuity of the wires and switch so I'm all good there. I've checked power going to the relay from the boat and am getting the 12 VDC.
Do you know of a work around for a relay system I can install? Thanks.

12hrs into my 2014 rzr my TAPS has gone out as well. Ill post the problem/fix ASAP
