    stereo is driving me crazy

when my boat is not started and I'm not feeling up fat sacks my tower speakers and my subwoofer sound really good but as soon as I start the boat and all miscellaneous items on the boat I can hear the noise threw my speakers super bad I've separated all my RCA cables from the ground from different wire to wire speakers so that all my wires are not touching. I'm not sure what to do. I do have a battery in the same compartment as the amps. I don't know if this would be an issue. Any help would be much appreciated I really like to listen to music while surfing.

Make sure that all of your electronics are grounded to the same point. Find the head unit ground, I am willing to bet that you have the amps grounded somewhere different than the head unit. There is your culprit.

Cool. Thx. I believe that I have the two amps grounded to onebattery and all the other electronics on the other battery in the back of the boat

That is your problem. To test you can just first take a temporary wire and run the power and ground to your amp batteries, and run the boat. Then if it solves the issue, wrap it up all nice and tidy later.

Unless your stereo battery is a stand-alone battery and not connected to the boats electronics in any way, then all operational electronics are actually grounded to the same point. But, with dual batteries, it is possible for the audio system to see two different B+ references. This is typically the source of unwanted noise. Is the head-unit's yellow B+/MEM wire still connected to the boats harness? If so, then its drawing off the original battery. Are the amps' B+ connected directly to the stereo battery or the common post of a dual battery switch?

I believe I have one amp going to one battery than the other amp goin to the common post on the battery switch. But both amps grounded on the same battery. So what I need to do is have all positives to the common post on the switch. And all negatives including amps pumps bilge ect. On same negative on battery. Correct?

With a traditional dual battery switch, all B+ except the auto bilge, need to be connected to the common post of the switch. For the amps' B-, I would terminate them to the closest battery.
