    Fourteen hundred dollars?!?

    1) I'd ask around for any salvage Tiges from which you could take the needed tower base. We have a broad community here, hopefully someone has knowledge of a totalled boat.

    2) This is the definition of why attorneys exist. Time to get one involved.

Please keep us posted. This situation truly sucks.

Called Tige customer support. They had engineering look at it and they said it was probably hit by something previously. Nothing they could do about it now though.
Its truly a bummer, but to me, it looks like a tow rope may have gotten hung on it and cause a fracture.

$600 for the piece and $800 for labor. Didnt look like 7 hours of labor to me but the electrical piece scares me....

The electrical is just routing the wiring harnesses. No big deal. A couple of the holes are rather tight but it's definitely do-able. Removing the top of the tower is probably the biggest challenge, as I suspect that baby is rather heavy. I'd have at least three other strong adults ready to help (anyone have hard numbers here?). Unhooking and rehooking the springs could get interesting.

In any case, I'd still try to find the part and do it yourself. The worst that can happen is that you can't finish the job and you take it to the dealer to finish it.

Changing the bases is an intense job, 7 hours is very reasonable, the interior has to come out of the sides to get to the bolts that hold the base plus you have to have a special bolt to go in and hold the springs while you undo the cables that attach to the tower, then all the wiring and realigning after install.

Where does previous owner live again? I'm thinking it might be time to show up at his house and kick him in the balls!! It may not accomplish anything but I can guarantee you it would make you feel better!

                  LOL, that would be awesome.

Unless, of course, he bought the boat from Iron Balls McGinty.

MF -- Maybe its time for Tige to step up on this one and show some good faith. Just OMG you kidding me.

7hrs seems very reasonable! It's a 2 person job for at least half of it.

Wow. That is crazy. I cant imagine what the previous buyer did to this. Did he tow a yacht with his tower? Geezus. I am gonna make an assumption and say the buyer must have known about it and just sold it to get rid of his problem. Karma will definitely catch up to this dude.

Man that sucks! I had lots of issues with my boat trailer, and still dealing with it so i know how you feel. I think 7hrs is about half of what its worth.
