Indmar engine built solely for Tige

Without knowing anything about this engine built just for Tige ... booooo I have never been on a Bu/Indmar that was quieter than our Tige with PCM.

Correct I think it is a great choice! I was not impressed by the PCM motors... They were a upgrade from the GM Vortecs but they definitely had their fair share of problems in my opinion. Just keep your eyes open and trust me when I say they won't let you down the motor built just for Tige don't let it worry you it won't disappoint.

I have the MP engine and never had a issue
This will be the third engine manufacture they have used in eight years
Tige, it's a way of life!

Seems like they change manufacturers each time I buy a new boat. Bought 07 tige marine power then in 08 PCM. 13 PCM 14 indmar. This is actually quite irritating to me. Makes me think something wrong w engine

I think it all comes down to cost and profit margin. Mb Sports switched to Indmar this year from PCM as well. Indmar must be under cutting the other engine suppliers.

So what separates Tige from the others now?? How can they have an engine solely developed for them. IMHO, arnt all the engines a 350 chev base, and they put their own spin on them with cranks, heads and manifolds? It maybe pushed towards the wake surfing era more with lower revs, high torque, low fuel consumption.

As said on here they are all chevy based engines only marinazation differences, performance should remain about the same because you only can make so much torque and HP from the same base, as far as dependability its all about how you service your engine theres no particular problems with anybodys brand, some maybe more difficult in certain areas to work on but not much.
When we started with Tige you had a choice of Mercruiser, Marine power, or PCM .

All GM blocks. All it means for certain is the price of the 2014 tige will be alot more.

I had a 2006 Moomba before I bought my Tige. It had the Indmar engine and I never had a single issue out of that boat in 6 years. My Tige Z3 with a PCM has had a few things go wrong with the engine in a year.

pretty damn exicted on this end... my 3 moombas had indmar... setup very nicely... remote oil filter sits in the front... and high up.. very simple oil change... lets complicated fuel strainer system as well... so stoked... excited to see what they offer.

Anyone know what transmission and v-drive Tige will be using with these engines? Does Indmar make their own, like PCM does? Or will it be a third party like Borg-Warner? The engine is only part of the drivetrain, and not always the most likely to have problems... I've already had my transmission swapped out under warranty while my engine just keeps purring along.

Also: I hope Indmar is forthcoming with CAN network codes for their engine parameters, so those wishing to tie in can obtain useful data... just sayin' out loud in case anyone is paying attention....

Indmar uses mefi like everyone else, and their maps are proprietary like everyone else's.

On malibus I think they use a ZF integrated tranny/vdrive unit (ski vee)? Definitely not made in house like pcm.

Having had indmar's 5.7 on my last boat and pcm's on my current one, they are pretty comparable.

Indmar is a little easier to winterize (exhaust manifolds on xover hose) and the raw water impeller is a little harder to change than pcm. Neither is a big deal. I do like that big old fcc fuel filter than pcm uses and the remote oil filter mount.

Some indmar's have the remote oil filter, but not sure whether it's standard now?
