SMALL TIP BUT MOST LIKELY THE MOST IMPORTANT WHEN IT COMES TO WORKING ON YOUR NEW BOAT BE CALM AND PATIENT

Serrated knife & goggles great idea. First year I ran over tube rope; had to cut w/knife. I remembered to take the key out of the ignition to make sure nobody turned it on!

Tell anyone who drives the boat that it will back always up towards 5 O:Clock.

If you need back out of a slip (or from trailer) and you need to go right, get the boat backing to right (5:00), then turn the wheel all the way left and with throttle you can spin the boat 270 degrees counterclockwise to go left. Using the clock analogy: the back will point to 5PM, and the nose will be pointing at 11. So by turn the nose left so it goes from 11:00 towards-9:00Towards-6-all the way to 3:00.... and you are now going "left"

Practice slow turns and docking by going out to the lake and throwing in life jackets and practice "docking to them"

To get it to turn @ slow speed, put boat in neutral and "kiss" it in/out of gear to help it start turning. It's like "kiss' "kiss" "kiss" turns the prop just a little bit at a time.

To get the boat onto trailer or into slip with a crosswind, get boat pointed perpendicular to the slip/shore/trailer about 20 yards away, but either left or right of target depending on which way the wind is blowing. Keep the boat straight, but let the wind blow sideways to get you into the right path. Going slowly helps, then as you get closer can nudge throttle to get into slip/onto trailer.

X2 on the box anchor. FAE is also the best stereo upgrade there is. Any ballast questions; talk to CHPTHRL

                Congrats
