2000 Tige' 21i Rider's Edition - What size ballast/fat sac for the back storage area?

    Hello,

So I'm starting to wakesurf and would like to add a ballast/fat sac to my boat with an electric pump. I would like to put it in the rear storage compartment. See photo below:

I keep my boat at the marina in dry dock storage so I will have to wait unit I get up there to measure but was wondering if anyone else that owns this model knows what size/type of ballast to purchase and a good source?

I've never owned a ballast before so any advice would be appreciated.

Unless you get a custom sac made, none with fit perfectly. Just get the longest sac they make and it will fill all the space it can. Remember, youll want some bow weight too. However, It would be best to add a 750 pound sac on the side of the engine you will surf on.

There are a few 300-350# locker sacs that straight line and fly high make that will fit. Something along the lines of 16" x 8" x 65" or 16" x 10 x 65". Anything larger than that will be partial filled. As KX said stick a sack on surf side as well and a little bow weight. Watch the bow rise too much and you will get air down to the prop making it sound like its cavitating.

OK thanks! With the TAPS system in the max down position and no additional ballast/weight is it possible to wakesurf behind this boat with just the driver (my wife @ 100lbs) and my 5 and 8 year old kids (about 40 and 50Lbs)? I have not tried it yet. I've been a wakeboarder for 10+ years but just bought a Ronix Thrasher wakesurfer and this boat is new to me. I haven't had a wakeboard boat in (how old is my daughter?? LOL) about 8 years. I'll be attempting to wakesurf behind it this weekend. Any tips would (rope position, etc.) would be appreciated! FYI - I have been surfing my whole life. I'm originally from Huntington Beach, CA. We moved up from Melbourne Beach, FL to Atlanta a few years ago so had to get a boat again of course once my kids were a little older to enjoy boating.n1407696945_30149163_8440.jpg Stoked to try wakesurfing.
