2012 Tige R20 - Engine warning light on (not check engine)

The warning triangle (red light) is turned on my boat, the engine doesn't even have to be running, light is still on, and stays on through out, even if i start the engine. Beeps a few times, but then beeping stops. Boat drives normally, not in safe mode.

Engine is a PCM 303, with 26 hours on it (it seems it started doing this exactly when it hit 26)

    ...

Is this a bad thing, regular maintenance, should I worry about it ?

I tried to ask a few PCM dealers, but they were no help, my Tige dealer where I bought the boat, no longer wants to help me on this issue, because they are "no longer a Tige Dealer" (Parker Boats Orlando), and the new Tige dealership in Orlando stopped responding to my emails.

Tige Corp, if you see this, your service really, really sucks! I had nothing but problems with this damn boat since I bought it.

And there is nowhere in the manual where it tells me a solid way to figure out what is the problem.

Did you have the 20 hour service done? I know in my wife's VW it turns on the service/check engine light when you hit 10K miles or one year from the last time it was serviced. It can only be reset at the dealer. Not sure if the boat does this, just a thought.

Page 16. Doesn't appear to be a maint reminder. Looks to indicate low oil press, high engine tranny or manifold temp, or electronic throttle malfunction. First thing, I would check your oil level. If you aren't noticing any specific high temps, you may need to have the engine code read to narrow it down.

Thats a sensor warning light , yellow is for overheat , oil pressure, etc, red is an engine sensor problem, I believe the 303hp engine was getting a bogus reading and PCM issued a reflash to correct problem but ill have to check my tsbs and see .

I checked and we had to do a reflash for a bogus code on a 303hp engine same year and hours, doesnt mean yours has the same problem but would require a scan of ECM data to determine.

I had the same light come on shortly after the 20 hour maintenance on my 2012 RZR with the 303. I was told it was something with emissions and it was ok to use until I could bring it in for a reflash. Call Tige to confirm.

I had the red light show up upon delivery of the new boat. Found out the engine knock sensor (2 of them on the engine block) 1 sensor was not connected and made the red light come on.

You probably already check this though. This knock sensor gets removed for winterization to drain water.

I had the boat since about 1 or 2 hours, so i dont think its the engine knock sensor, unless it just fell out of its socket, i will check it when i get home.

Reflash issue sounds like it might be the problem. But the local PCM dealer next to me does not want to touch the boat, since they do nautique only. I don't want to tow it all the way to Orlando, is there any way to fix this myself ?

That's crappy. Have you talked with PCM themselves? Maybe they would have pull over a PCM dealer to look at this for you.

It just needs a re flash we had a 2012 R20 do the same thing. Bring it by we'd be happy to help you.

This is your answer. Take it to Fortes. Best marine dealer this side of the Andromeda Galaxy. Anyone who has ever dealt with them will agree. Good luck and report back!

Ok, good news, it is the re-flash that is causing the problem. Tige has responded (contacted them directly), and The orlando dealer also. (everyone got back to me at the same time).

                        WABoating: Who is Fortes ?

Problem I have now, is that I have no Tige dealer close to me, and I have to haul it yet again to Orlando, already spend a lot of $$$ for the last 3 trips i did this. Anybody know a PCM mechanic in the North FL area that can fix this ?

Dom Forte and 91Terminator, both of whom have responded on this thread, are from Fortes in Largo. I just checked the map and that isn't very convenient for you in Jacksonville. But if you end up needing to drive somewhere, they'd be my first pick. Notice how they, as a dealer, jumped right on this thread and helped you out with information and an offer to reflash. Cream of the crop folks.
