How to get to how sacks on Z3

    Hey guys,

Can you tell me how to get to the factory sacks in the bow of my 2012 Z3 ?

I have the pro sacks coming and am taking out the surf sacks.

    Thanks !

You just have to remove the black dividers that are up there. Just a few phillips head screws to get them out. Not sure how they are plumbed as I haven't had mine out.

Thanks for the reply. I assume the dividers are under the seats ? How do I remove the seats ?

I'm not 100% on the Z3 as I have a 13 RZR but my seats are bolted down and aren't removable. Port side you go thru the observer seat locker and starboard side you go thru the seat back locker thats in front of the helm. There is a black plastic divider in there to the bow side. You will see the bright stainless screws. Pretty easy once you see it.

Yes go through observer seat on port side and through the seat back in the bow in front of the helm on starboard side.

There are screws going through the grey carpet that you cannot see to remove those dividers. There are about 4 or 5 running along the top at the 90 degree portion of the divider. Then I think there are 2 that go straight into the top part from the bow opening access. You can access both front bags through this divider. Tough finding all the screws but once they are out, the bags are easy to take in and out. I just took a small pick across the top and scratched till I felt metal screws. Be careful you might find some treasures hidden in there.

On the 2013 they did not carpet the dividers which makes it easier to see the screws but doesn't look as finished.

                    Ok guys,

I was working on installing the pro bow sacks tonight. After I removed the factory bow surf ballast bag (u shaped one piece bag) it had 1 fill and 1 empty line per side with a vent hose way at the tip of the bow on the top of the bag.

The new pro ballast bags have 2 ports on the top and one on the bottom for each side.

So I have to T my vent fitting and run one to each bag.

                    I have some questions:

1). I forgot to measure the hose and fitting size today, I assume its 3/4" ?

                    2) Is there any issue with me building a T and running it to each bag for the vent ?

                    3) can you use hose clamps on the hose or should I order the crimp tool and do it right ?

Sorry for all the questions etc... I am new to this boating stuff but not scared to pull a wrench !

Hose clamps are fine. Just position them so they won't poke the bags. I would T the vent with its respective drain line (with a check valve). I did this so that I could use the open port for a dedicated drain line on the rear bags.

Thanks for the reply. I am talking about the bow sacs, not the rear. (If that's what you meant).

Ok so I was thinking more on this and with only 1 vent line in the bow, if I T into it for both sacks as soon as 1 sac fills it will start to fill the other correct ?

What is the best way I should take care of this ? Anyone ? I would like to sort this out so I can order parts for my upcoming holiday !

Just use a check valve on each bag before they T together at the vent and you wont have any backfill issues into the other bags on the same vent line.

No I meant the front bags. I'm installing dedicated drains for my rear enzo sacs and will run the drain lines up to the front of the boat. That way I eliminate passive draining. I T'd each of the front drains to their respective vents, with a check valve on the vent line. Now I have an open thru-hull on each side in front, to connect my new rear drain lines to.
