Tigé PRE 2200v wt TAPS question...

Just bought a new to me 1998 PRE 2200v wt and just wondering if I could get a little help for a newbie.

First off does the TAPS work off the up and down switch on the throttle? If so if it is not moving on the gauge but I hear a motor sound in the back could something be frozen/locked up?

Also, since I have never owned a boat like this. Should the swim platform be underwater?

thanks for any and all help..

Hey Brian - post some pics of your new bad boy!!

To your questions - Yes the switch on the throttle controls your TAPS. If you hear the pump running you should check to make sure the plate is moving first (under the swim deck). If it is moving, then you should check the green wire from the actuators back to the gauge - sometimes that wire can be cut.....

My swim deck is right at the water level - when a few people get back there to swim/play, the deck will be just under the water.

Hope that helps a little -

Some time not always there is a set of 3 wires that runs up the throttle arm to the button it is common that the 3 wires will short out and burn up the relay module that controlls the taps if that what has happend i can help you with that my 2000 tige 21v was like that when i bought it

        Brian,
Congrats. I have the same year and model. You will be happy with it. I absolutely love mine.
My swim platform is right a water level. Lets see some photos. I think that is one of the sexiest looking hulls on the water.
        Enjoy it

thanks for the help, I just put in in the water yesterday and I will not be back to see it until Saturday. I will check out these things and see what I can come up with. This boat is a huge difference between the 86 Glastron x19 that I had. Can't wait do see what she has when I am behind it!

the TAPS was just out of ATF the stopper had popped out and the fluid was all over the place. Cleaned that up and added some ATF and she is good to go, the gauge doesn't work, not sure what is up with that. Anybody have any ideas on that? all the wire seem to be plugged in.
