Has anyone ever considered using Styrofoam to fill in the bottom, then fill that in with fiberglass? I would love to know if that would do the same thing.

I have been reading about people just upgrading there swim deck to the 2012/2013 swim deck, but getting off the phone with TIGE they say I would have to Gel Coat the holes and re-drill for the new one. On top of the swim deck I thing this could be a very expensive way.

That is why I was wondering the alternative. what are your thoughts?

Ok I could use a little help if anyone is up for it. I have a 2007 TIGE, it is getting a lot of splash with white wash. I am looking if you have or can get the measurements of the wake plate from the length, width, and then the over all dimensions. I am going to try and make my own out of 1x1 and cover in a stainless piece of metal. then mount to the swim platform like the original one.

I have called TIGE and multiple dealers and they do not have a RZ2 with a Covex plate. so I will have to go of the Z3 and lengthen the plate to form up to my original swim deck. I will then Fiberglass in the bottom of my swim deck and hope this all will work out.

I predict. if I keep the same pitch that is shown with the 1st page post. and just lengthen to throw the wake out past the platform this will take care of the white wash and splash over.

It is worth a try. I have been quoted 4200.00 for the Covex plate from a dealer and that is white. If I want any color it is 5000.00 plus both of these will have to be shipped and installed. Installation will be gel coating the old holes. back plating for the new ones and a lot of measuring about a day and a half in labor according to my local boat place witch is another 1200 or so.

I figured since I know metal and can make the same shape and form factor. This could cost me no more then 400.oo and time to try. So why not. But since my dealer does not have a Covex Plate and is not very nice cause we did not get our boat from them. I am asking for you help. I appreciate it and thank you in advance.

Re bottom fill, your 2007 platform is much bigger than the 2009 redesign and much, much bigger than the 2011/2012/2013. Filling might decrease froth but will not fix deformation of the wave from the corner cutting in.

Re DIY plate, check out this thread, especially pics at post #7 and #21

Thanks for the reply Duncan, I never thought about the width, and have talked to Wickedcummins as he only lives 60 miles away. Would love to get a test of one or something without having to go the Convex route, as I have been quoted in white alone around 4300.00 and another 800 for any color I want and that is just the plate another 800 to color the platform too. That is just nuts, I would think they would want every one with a TIGE to put these on and show the other manufactures how much better TIGE is. I guess manufacturing must be expensive.

Unfortunately I dropped the platform off and it may be getting smoothed, I needed it fixed and told him if he could keep it to a certain price then go ahead and smooth it. I wish I would have seen you post sooner. I just logged on and seen it, never received a notification you responded. Ow well it happens.
