Modding an Xplosion Tower on a 08 RZ4??

We picked up a ’08 Tige RZ4 that has an Xplosion Tower shown below, apparently the company is no longer around.

Could someone give me some info on this tower? I haven’t been able to find much information about them other than they aren’t around anymore. How's their build quality??

I like the general shape of the tower except two items;

• The funky shape of the rear “X” shaped rear support, I would rather it be a simple curve. They unbolt from the top and hinge downward towards the boat’s interior.
• Not having a second horizontal (straight) bar near the top, I will be switching out the current Dbot5 speakers with Wet Sounds Icon8s

1. Is there someone that makes towers in the Nor Cal area that could match the 2.5” diameter tubing to replace the funky “X” shaped rear supports?
2. And possibly add a second horizontal bar?

I'd contact Samson here in the Northwest... You'd be surprised what they can do!

I am sure Samson has the skills, I just doubt that they would work on someone else's tower - probably for a number of reasons, too busy building complete towers, stupid lawyers (lawsuits) etc.

I actually like the way the tower sits on the boat, I just do NOT like the "X" shaped rear strut and would like to add a second horizontal bar.

But I guess it wont hurt to ask them. Funny thing is that Samson replied to an earlier request of mine about their reverse arch on a RZ4, but I don't really want to replace the whole tower if I don't need to.

And I definitely don't want to buy four new Wet Sounds clamps, a different Samsom mirror arm as all my stuff is for a 2.5" diameter bar!

I'm sure a good metal fab shop could handle it. The tower is already there and they would just be replace part A with part B and adding part C. It's not like they are engineering an entire tower.

I think 13th Floor is out of NorCal. BOSS used to be out of Folsom. Not sure where all the fabricators ended up but, some tower company now makes all the same exact stuff. Not sure which one though. Sorry.

I agree, I was just hoping someone would have some experience or know of a good fab shop that has a mandrel bender and a good welder that can put down some aluminum welds.

I know DiyWake's products, I had Raul's tower speakers on my last boat, and just got a bunch of his LED tower lights delivered yesterday, but I don't think he manufactures here in the US.
