We are camping and will be at the sites late this evening through Sunday. What is the plan for Friday day? Is everyone just launching and spending the day on the water?

Friday day is typically just boating and enjoying the day, meeting some new people, cracking a few cold beverages......that sort of thing. You are camping in the campground, not on a beach somewhere right? I think tall was looking to camp on a beach, hopefully with some drunken neighbors to keep him awake all night then threaten him with a knife.....can't remember who that story actually pertains to but it was a good one that should be told around the campfire Fri or Sat night! HA!

            Awesome! Looking forward to it.

Sorry about the confusion, we are camping in the campground. We want to be close to everyone else for the evenings and not have to cruise back at night to a beach spot.

Dammit, looks like the wind will be up in the afternoons. Hopefully mornings are good. I'm bringing the go pro to get some good shots next to the riders and we've got the chest harness too.

If I remember, there are a few good spots to get out of the wind and like you said, hope for good mornings and evenings!

@chpthril - Gonna miss you man! Thanks for the support, someone will enjoy the prize and everyone will appreciate the rest! I'll try to coordinate a mass beer chugging with some MLA koozies for ya!

Update: After speaking with the Marina, I have one Single Room left that they were not able to refund me for. I thought it was a 1 day cancellation policy but it is actually 1 week. So....anyone needing a room or an additional room please contact me.

Also, the slips are $15 each with a room rental, not sure if that is per night or per stay. Considering we have 13 rooms, we should have slips for 13 boats if needed. We will just have to coordinate who goes where, a minor detail. We can leaves the boats on the main dock while eating, stocking up on ice/beverages or napping, just can't use the dock/slips overnight unless reserved. Other option is to just trailer them each night, which should be simple with all the help available!

The restaurant is open at 8 and closes at 6 on Thurs-Sat and then 8-5 on Sun but they will have the bar open later for entertainment and beverages/bar food both Fri and Sat nights. We have lunch being served at 12pm in the Restaurant/Bar on Sat provided by Tige! Everyone is responsible for their own food/beverages for all other meals, I assume there will be some good BBQing going on!

My cell number is 702 two three nine 7463 if anyone needs to get ahold of me. I'll check this tonight and periodically this weekend, but am about to leave work and start my weekend. Hope to see you all on Sat, drive safe!~

I am starting to reconsider that trek from Echo to Temple Bar. I am not sure how bad 20 MPH can get out in the bay, any ideas? The only time I was actually scared I might sink Bad05's boat was at Lake Mead, so I have a bit of respect for the lake. Mapquest says it is 3 hours and 22 minutes for me to get to Temple Bar on the road.

The guy in the black and red drysuit in this video is coming. So anybody interested in seeing some good foiling, track me down.

One of the best foiling videos I have seen. Check out the sequence at about 5:50 in particular.

Hey Tall, I've driven both on the water and via land from echo to temple. Drive via land dude. It's 100 miles almost on the nose from echo to temple but if you're on the freeway even better. The wind is supposed to be out of the south which means you'll get your *** handed to you on the way down once you get past the islands. Thats a really open part of the lake and I've been caught in some crap through there on the same trek in both a houseboat towing the tige and in the tige itself. Because of that incident I installed a 2500GPH emergency pump by the rudder... gnar... The wind energy in the swells reflects off the islands and bounces back towards the center part of the lake causing insane double ups for a couple miles but the worst part is the closeness of the swells when the wind gets above about 14knots. Obviously I'm super cautious because of the 99's bow but the reality is you will pound it all the way down. Be safe which ever route you choose.

Thanks for the advice. I think I am going to drive it in the tow vehicle, although I love commuting by boat. Early in the morning and later at night it should be calmer...so it is still tempting.

I mapped it out. It looks like 22 miles via water. If I can cruise at 30 MPH (calm water), that is an easy 45 minutes. If I go by land, it adds an extra 1 hour and 40 minutes to the trip. My buddy wants to commute by liquid...but it is not his boat. I suspect tomorrow morning would be an easy cruise...the real question is Saturday night. I really don't like driving in the dark, but seem to do it a lot lately.

I would like to Thank John and his family for all their work setting up the reunion. I would like to also thank everyone who was there for all the support and information that was given to me. I honestly didn't go with intention of winning any prizes or getting any gifts. I was going for the opportunity to meet great people which my family and myself did. I was overwhelmed by the generosity of all who attended especially of Dan who gave me his prize voucher for a new Prop. So from the bottom of my heart thank you all and hope everyone had a safe trip home. Sign me up for next year for sure.
