September is going to approach fast. Has a location been decided upon? Has Tige' corp. been contacted and are they onboard with any help? Sure would be great if a few pros showed. Looking forward to another successful reunion again. Just need to start planning in advance.

Has someone contacted Temple Bar to see if we as a group can get a good rate on the cabin rentals?

Ok, figured I'd take my chances. I realize the final decision hasn't been made yet between Callville and Temple - but I went ahead and booked a room at Temple. Hope we get these plans rolling an firmed up soon- anxious!

Dan and Christy took a drive out there yesterday so he will have an update soon. I will be talking to both the local dealer and Tige today and also provide an update. I think at this point, Temple seems to be the location we are all leaning towards. I read back through the posts and see the following that seem to be planning on attending:

              - Bad05
              - Dan and Christy
              - talltigeguy
              - xpjim1
              - The Black Widow
              - chpthril
              - dingleberry
              - TeamAllen
              - D & P Powell
              - h2osk8er00
              - boatwakes
              - Wakeman22

Did I miss anyone? Anyone else planning on attending? Who all would be interested in shirts....or possibly tank tops!

              More info later today.

Like John said, we took a drive out to Temple yesterday. The trip is right at 1 hour from Henderson/Vegas which is the same as Echo.

There are a couple options for sleeping accomodations. There is an NPS campground, cabins, motel rooms, and an RV park. The campground and RV park will comfortably fit an RV up to about 30'. The RV park is a standard mobile home village that has 8 non-full time spots available to rent. The cabins are pretty much four walls, a roof, twin beds, and a mini fridge. There is a stand alone restroom building for use. The motel rooms vary from some with kitchenettes, differing number of twin beds, etc.

Use of BBQ's outside the cabins and motel rooms is strictly prohibited. Sounds like there was a fire at one of the buildings recently. There is a nice picnic area near the motel with park style bbqs and concrete tables. The only downside to this is the relative location to the water. With the water level falling(thanks California brethren ) it's a bit of a hike from the water to the cabin/motel/campground area.

I think we will be getting one of the motel rooms or cabins. John will be calling the marina to check on group rates shortly.

Are there a few sandy beaches we can just primitive camp at ?

Perhaps one that we could call Tige central?

Group rates will be available Thursday, but I went ahead and reserved the remaining 10 rooms in my name so they didn't get booked by anyone outside of our party! I will need to know if anyone is interested in these rooms and assign them on a first come first serve basis. Each party will be able to check in and pay for their room the day of. I assumed a Friday check-in and Sun check-out for all rooms which can be changed if need be on an individual basis. I will hold these for the next few weeks then cancel all remaining rooms. The rooms include:

                    - 2 Kitchen Rooms with a double bed
                    - 2 Singles with a double bed and sofa sleeper
                    - 4 Desert Views with 2 double beds
                    - 2 Lake Views with 2 double beds

All 4 of the cabins are currently available, I did not reserve those.

Please PM, email (johncolman @ me . com) or call (702 two three nine 7463)

I haven't been on that side of the lake but assume you could find a few. There is one large sandy beach but it's a haul up there, look on the map and follow the lake East then North.

I would love to find an awesome beach to camp at and anchor the boat. That is what we usually do on our trips to Mohave and prefer that over campgrounds or motels.

There's a fantastic cove about 3 miles from temple at Mushroom Rock, many, many houseboat trips there and very good sized cove with wind swell block from all sides. I'm bringing both whalers too (17' and 11') so we have a runner to the marina if we decide to camp it. There's also a half mile of sandy beach in this area for hang out but it's a north facing beach so I wouldn't recommend camping on it because of possible wind exposure. We're heading out thursday night, will stay at the hotel that night and then hit the water in the morning looking for a good beach. Most likely will leave GPS coordinates/chart directions with the marina attendant for those coming in friday. Are we going to be sitting around the campfire singing koom-by-ya?

Do you plan on camping on the lake or staying in the motel/campground like you previously mentioned?

We'll be grabbing one of the motel rooms at the marina. It will be good to have an air conditioned space for ol' preggers to take a nap in during the day. The last few years have been successful by having the lunch and main gathering point be at the marina, my vote would be to do the same this year. It seems easier to tell guys to meet at a certain time for events at a stationary point(marina) rather than 'X' beach at 'X' time.

Only 4 of the rooms have been spoken for at this point. I agree with Dan that for the lunch/raffle/dealer portion of the event it may be easier to have it at the Marina under the shade picnic area close to the hotel where everything can be stored. hauling all of that stuff out to a beach always seemed like a PITA!

                                Thoughts?
