We had a great time with Mitch Lemos out on the boat testing the regular side wake. Mitch is a boat ho. He rides every boat, and with a lot of great wakesurf riders. He is always one of the guys I go to to help test our setup for the regular side of the wake. Mitch also runs the California Marine Sports pro shop and rides for Victoria Skim boards. Check out the video.
As of last week, we had the same amount of people registered for the West Coast Wakesurf Open as we did on the day of the event in 2012. As of today, we have more, and we may have to cut off registration soon so if you are NOT registered, register now!
The Roster
We have a great roster of riders for the event, and we will publish it on Tuesday after memorial day, and we also should have a schedule available. We are not going to have to combine any classes, and we may be splitting out amateur into outlaw and amateur. We have 11 people registered for Masters, which is fantastic, I can't wait to see that smack down. We may have to do a qualifying run and finals for masters as well as the pros. Stay Tuned!
Here are some great pictures for the riding we have been tuning to make sure our Z3 with Convex VX is ready for the competition. This is the competition debut of the Convex VX.
Frank agreed (330 lbs), the boat has plenty of push even with the VX. Some people thought the VX would reduce the push, you just add about 300 more pounds than without the VX, and it has as much push as the Z3 did before without the VX.

Here is Dennis riding switch and he has plenty of room. The VX wake is longer than without, and very smooth.

Rob was trying out his new Soulcraft custom behind the Z3, he loves it.

Rob is actually getting decent air with this board, he is going to be flying by the end of the summer.

Pretty cool looking board.

RJ also liked it and tried it backside, he liked it even though its a tad short for him.

RJ was even able to get a bit of air backside, not quite "Sher" worthy, but still pretty good.

RJ is riding a loaner from Soulcraft since he toasted his board. He likes it but its a bit long for him. He needs something more in between this and Rob's board, still a great, fun board.

He has a lot of control and likes the rails.

He just isn't quite getting the same height as his old board.

Here he is on Rob's board on the goofy side.
