Boat cover "short term storage"

I've noticed my boat interior carpets etc seem to be wet on my new 2013 r20. I keep outdoors on lift, but do not have canopy. Do the covers not repel water and how long should I expect the cover to last? I was reading the manual tonight and noted that it referred to the lockdown cover as short term.

I put bungee cords around the tower arms and chamois under each one on the inside of the arm.Also use the center support poles and ratchet the cover tight.That should be good for a day or two in the rain.Anything more than that you will probably see moisture inside.Normally mine is stored in a shed,but we will sometimes leave it in the wetslip for a week at most.

RT is right that most moisture will get in around the tower legs, unless water is pooling in your cover. I have a strap sewed onto my cover that attaches to my tower that keeps rain shedding off the sides. I've never had a problem with any other moisture getting in my boat other than around the tower legs. Bring your cover in to a local upholstery shop and add the strap, it's much easier than using a pole.

on this topic, my cover is several years old. Is there a favorite re-waterproofing product that works really well?

303 makes one that I have used in the past that works good. Comes in a gallon and I used a pump-up garden sprayer to apply it. Just was the cover 1st in a front-load washer with mild soap and line dry, Then lay the cover out upside down and coat good.

2000 20ci, Missouri ozarks. My boat is on a Hydra Hoist at my dock. I use an electric heater I bought at West Marine. I plug it in when I leave on Sunday night and the carpet is dry when I return on Friday. This small watt heater works for rain blowing thru the cover and just wet carpet from the weekend. M&M
