Purchased 2009 Z1 and Engine Issues before it hits the water?

This may or may not be related. I was going to have this dealership winterize my boat this year. With all of the issues I had with my last boat I thought it would be nice and since it was new to me this may be cheap insurance. I am in Kansas and my parents live in Castle Rock, CO. I figured I could run it out and drop it off for them to witerize and do the service items. I called to see if they could do it and when. I was late in calling and it was something it would need to be done soon to beat the freeze. They told me they planned to winterize all of their boats for the year and those that they do for others the next week. I checked the weather in Denver and it was suppose to freeze prior to them doing this. I choose not to take it for fear they may let mine freeze before they got to it and I would have issues. I did it myself.

Again not sure this is what caused the issue with your boat, but it could be related. Doesn't explain overheating, but it could explain water in the oil.

So here is the latest...

Good news - I picked up the boat on Saturday and had a couple hours on it. Everything seems to be running well.

Bad news - It cost me $3100+ to get it back to functioning properly. I am attaching the description of services and total so you guys can take a look at what a "clean" boat looks like when you go by the word of WWS. Bill at WWS is still telling me that I am "crazy". The spark plugs looked like they were lying at the bottom of the lake for a few years. I will post pics of them later. And, the fuel gauge is broken too...

So long, long story short - I am still trying to work w the owner of WWS and the original seller to get some of this paid for (not holding my breath though). If I get nowhere, I guess I look at other options. I am not giving up easily.

And WWS wont send me the service records now. SHADY.

Man I'm sure glad your back in action on the lake. How crappy of a deal. So was the head cracked or what? I just don't understand exactly what happend. And best of luck with it from now on.

Well im still baffled at how they go and pull the engine , without first tearing down the heads in the boat first checking the bores and survey the heads which they end up fixing, which would be about half the price, im not saying you didnt get a bad deal with boat sale , im not comfortable with the way the boat was diagnosesed.
When you pull the heads if the gaskets dont look bad and heads survey ok , then you pull the engine for further examination, further more nowhere in the work does it show a tear down of the rest of the engine for a crack check , so they must have done the same vissual check of the bores as could have been done in the boat.

Dom- I wish I had the mechanical knowledge to know for sure. From what I understand, they thought the water was coming in from a cracked block and that is why they pulled the engine. The guys at Heinens (local dealer) have been great to me through this process so I have no complaints there.

WWS still wont send me the service records...
