TAPS

I did a search for TAPS info. I think I found my answer, but I would like to check. I have been without TAPS for almost two years. I finally found the problem. ... A loose hot connection to the fuse. AHHHHHH

Anyway, now it goes up and down. When I put it on one though, it slowly moves towards 8. If I push the button, it goes back to 1.

I have two questions.

1) I removed the solenoid. (I know DUMB move!!!) I don't know if I may have put it back to gether wrong. I cannot find an "exploded" view of the pump. I have the Bennet owners manual, and the website. Both show the solonoid inserted. There is an "O" ring, a plasitic spacer, and a spring inside. How are they oriented? I am wondering if I put it together wrong, and now it can't hold the correct pressure.

2) Could it just be low on ATF? Another thread said this could be the problem.

Have you contacted Bennett
they have an excellent support staff and should be able to help you.
I was not sure by your post what you were trying to say in regards to the needle movement on the gauge.
Do you mean that is go up at adefferent rate than it goes down?

I have a 1999 2200i, not sure which boat model you are working on.

Had the experience of exploring the workings of the TAPS as my taps reservoir cracked. Have no idea how that occurred as mine is located in the driver's side hatch compartment under the dash. We never go in that storage area. Bennet did caution me on lightly torquing the solenoid into the housing, it needs to be tight enough to seal without stressing the plastic reservoir housing.

Spoke with Bennet and they sent me out a new reservoir free from FL. I saved my notes on the topic.

Thank you!!!!! I think I had it in right, but I just took it out anyway. Put it back the way you described. I then added some ATF. It is supposed to have two inches in the resevoir. Mine may have had an inch. Tested it a few times, and it works perfectly.
