    Still getting water

We are still getting water under the front seats (20V) It has been back to the dealer and they sealed the eye and looked at the docking lights but say there is no problem. We were out today and I was very carfull not to get water over the bow, but still have water under front seats, in the area up front between the seats and a line of water all the way back to the driver. There is no water in area under console on either the drivers or passenger side. I used a shop vac when I got home and got about 2 to 3 galllons. Is this just a one of those things that you have to accept or is this a problem. We have had boat about 6 weeks and the carpet smells up front. This is a pain in the a--. Any ideas?

Could it be comming in at the rub rail when you turn, maybe have someone look under seat as you make a turn and see if it leaks. possible the seam was not sealed correctly?

Do you also get a lot of water out when you pull out the plug on the ramp?

Good point, how does any water stay in the bow, it should all run to back of the boat and out the plug. Is your boat not level when hooked to the tow vehicle. If thats the case then the water could be getting in anywhere and just running up to the front when you put it on the trailer.
Could just have a loose hose. Is your cooler plug out? maybe its just melting ice that collects in your boat after you park it?

Today was the first day that I got water out of drain plug.(we have had water under seats and on floor every time we take boat out) I was able to park on ramp for a little bit to allow it to drain on angle probably had several gallons. We use coolers that are not part of the boat so there is no water from them. Today was the only day that the bilge spit water and when I say spit that is about it. It is very fustrating payed good money for a new boat and it feels and is starting to smell like old fishing boat. Thanks for suggestion, I think tomorrow before we go I will try garden hoseand spray front, then check the seams as we are going. Thanks

You should not accept this at all. Did the dealer put the boat in the water and see if they can find the leak? If not have them do this. Looks like you have tried to find the source. If you cannot identify the source its up to them to find it.

Open the engine cover next time you are out.
On my 20V I had a leak coming from the packing at the prop shaft. ( I was able to see it spray as we drove the boat.)

We go out for about 4 hours and get in about 6 runs each (3 off us) and at the end of the day I get NO water out of the hull and the only thing that is wet is the rear locker where we keep the boards and vest.

Something is defiantly wrong with you boat. Like they said have your dealer do a water test.
Tige, it's a way of life!

I second what whitlock is saying. Run around a little with the engine cover open and see if you find any water coming in that way. If you are getting a few gallons, it could be a small leak in the cooling for you motor, or something of that nature. Good luck.

                  Getting water also!!!

We just bought and have used our new 06 24VE 3 times, the front is soaked and is pooling about 3-4 inches of water in the very front and is wet all the way back to the area under the glove box, we thought maybe the cover was leaking(we are in Seattle and it has been pouring)
but, now I'm wondering if it's something else you guys have talked about. It is so wet, the carpet is starting to break into little pieces. We are taking it back to the dealer today and will hopefully find the problem.

I have the same problem with my 05 22V where I got water in the front over the winter. I think know what is causing the problem.

When it rains water runs down the front tower support. This water then dribbles down the inside of the boat and collects in the front area of the boat. You can duct tape some plastic around the front tower supports to the cover and seal the opening some. I also have a squirrel cage blower that I run to constantly blow fresh air under the cover. I also leave the front seats propped open, in fact all openings open. These seem to minimize the amount of water and helps it dry out.

Another issue that may cause the water under the seats is i notice that you live in Fl and I know you get a lot of dew in the mornings and if the cover is on then this will add to the moisture inside the boat. On the trailers most boats are bow dwn and water will run and collect in the front areas. As far as a leak around the rubrail that would be very hard and I do not think that is the problem. As for a leak someplace else, I do not think unless it was coming from the bow eye. The water will collect at the nose and once you accelerate then that moves the water back and then you are seeing the water. That water is coming from someplace very simple. As for the smell on the boat you can use any of the carpet cleaners in a can and this will help. Let me know what you find or please give me a call 325-676-7777.

                          Sorry so long.

Thanks for all your help, as for leaking in the rain I have a warehouse that I rent to keep it inside until my house is finished and then will keep in garage (Fl. sun is tough on everything left outside) I bought little fans and have them on timers to try and dry front area. We have been trying to get the boat back to dealer all week hopefully they will find it this time.

                              gee this sounds familiar

I just saw this post... sounds like the same problem we had when we first got our 21i. First we resealed the bow lights thinking it was one of them leaking. After many diagnosis attempts-- we figured out it was the rub rail-- GIZMO is correct. When you do a sharp turn it goes right under the rail and in...then you have tons of water under your bowseats.
We took some clear silicone and ran a small bead on the underedge of the rail from the bow back to the windsheild-- have not had any trouble since. The dealer should fix, but if not this works. You may want to reseal your bow lights too--just in case.
                              Hope this helps!
