    summerizing my rz2

I generally like to drop my 2010 RZ2 at the dealership for a good summerization prior to putting it in the lake, but this year they are so backed up that it really doesn't look to be an option.

It has the PCM 340 and the dealership did the winterization, my understanding was it should be all ready to go, however I was going to have them check it over just in case. Timing lookis to have changed that idea.

So...I charged the batteries and checked the oil and all looks good. What else should I look for?

Thats a really tough question for any of us to answer. The reason being is it all depends on what your shop did for winterization. The summarization is really just the opposite. Some places have it all set up so all you have to do is hook up the batteries and your ready to go. Where others leave hoses off and plugs out that need to be put back in prior to use. It all depends on their procedures. Some fill with antifreeze some don't. Some pull the plugs to drain and reinstall right away, some leave them out all winter. Same with the ballast hoses/ connections. Your really going to have to talk to the dealer and see exactly what they have done. Alot of places like to leave it in such a way that you have to come back to have it summarized, which to me really is a crock as it just finishing the job they started winterizing it. There really is little to no true summarization on these boats. They don't have toilets, or water systems, etc. To me you shouldn't have to pay a second time for something they started and only half did, if thats the case. Thats why I do my own and alot of people do, its not hard. Saves money and puts you on your schedule, not the dealers which as you are seeing can really be a drag. Bottom line is you really are going to have to talk to the shop to see what they exactly did so you know what exactly to do to get it ready. Good Luck. Wish we were closer to boating but the ice is clearing just this week and it's still way to cold here.

I would check to see that all the hoses are connected. If they did leave plugs out they should have them all in a baggie for you, if so put them back in. According to your invoice from the winterization did they change the oil? What about the impeller? Where the batteries already hooked up? If not you need to make sure that they are hooked back up correctly.

If you have done a visual and all looks to be hooked up I would hook it up to a fake-a-lake and start it. Run it for a bit and look for leaks, check the oil pressure, engine temp, and voltage. Watch to see the water come out the exhaust, if there is a pink color to it they added a antifreeze. DON"T ENGAGE THE PROP. You can then move the fake-a-lake to the intakes for the ballast and then run them making sure they fill and then empty, shouldn't have to fill it all the way.

If you have any other questions let us know. You may even take some pics to post if you have any particular questions.

Thank you was kina thinking the same thing. Am sure they changed the oil and pretty sure they hooked all up, as a matter of fact 2 years ago they told me not to even bring it back at all. Was figuring I would give it a good look over and dump it in.....hope for the best?!

        thank you!

If they did put antifreeze in it you don't want to dump it in. That is typically a big no no.
