God it sucks being self employed and never having a tax return . Even when I overpay it just gets rolled over into the next quarter.

          Tanner,
You need to find a way to write off the boat expenses against the self-employment income...

I went through this last year and ended up with a pair of Monster Single-Barrels w/ the Tantrum drivers. I added a Kenwood 7202 amp just for these and replaced my head unit with a Kenwood as well because I needed an Aux input for my MP3 player.

It really sounds good. Now that I've added the FAE, all you hear is the water splashing and the tunes...it's kinda like being on my road bike with headphones on. You feel you're in a different world.

                Tanner,

I'm with bnueb on this one. You should look into what you can expense on your boat.

I asked my tax advisor prior to my tige purchase to see what expenses I could take advantage of. He siad as long as I keep a hand written log of people/clients and date for the use of the boat along with the Receipts that I could write them off. It has to somehow tie back to business. I work on the side as a Recruiter. So obviously all my riding buddies that potentially could be in the market would fit in my criteria of potential clients. "Entertainment expense"

Could bring much bigger dividends if you can find a way to tie back to business.

Given how many people we've taught to wakeboard, I should just start a school...great idea on the tax stuff!

Already do... I take clients out. Every CPA I've talked to doesn't really want to do it. Then I put my foot down and tell them to do it as I'm paying them. I still don't see why they are scared to as I use it quite often to entertain clients and "seal deals".
