I have a 01 2300v- 315 merc. We took it out for the 1st time a couple days ago and it seemed pretty slugish coming out of the hole with only 3 adults and 4 little ones no ballast.....I am thinking I need to re prop once my ballast goes in. Gonna run 750's in the rear and bow sac in front with maybe one more bag in front to get it dialed. Any thoughts on which prop? experiences? I went to wakeprops and it looks like there are several options, maybe the 1235.....Thoughts? Thanks in advance! I have a stainless 4 blade 14x18 1/2 currently.

18 1/2!? That's a pretty tall wheel. As always, the best thing to do is call Acme. There are so many variables to selecting the right prop that its almost impossible for any of us to really say one is better that the other. As a general observation though, I don't see why you would ever need an 18 1/2 on a 23v. Stainless is also not the way to go anymore. A good prop nowadays is made from NiBral and cut on a CNC. Stainless is so 1990'sYou'll get your chance, smart guy.

1st thing I would do is confirm your v-drives gear ration. And for this reason, I would be cautious of what that prop suggestion table on the other site tells you. Tige ran 2 gear ratios in the early to mid-2K's and the wakeprops table didnt reflect this last time I checked it.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

The v-drives color is about 99% accurate, but its tagged just to be sure. Black = 1:1 and blue = 1.5:1Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

I had basically the same boat as you, 02 23v, with a blue v-drive. I went through a progression of props with that boat. First off you will not be able to run 1235 because of clearance, believe me I tried. I heavily loaded my boat wakeboarding, 900lbs in the locker, u shaped sack under seats (650lbs), with 500lbs in the walk way, a triangle 1100lbs sack above the seats, and a 750lbs in the cab. I ended up running Acme 1433 which is a 14x14.5 .105 cup. It was closer to the hull then the pros will tell you to run, but I never encountered a problem. I also ran 1579 which was the proper distance because it was 13.5x14.5 .105 cup. Both were very good with the hole shot, but you do lose some top end. Or if you want the most aggressive prop you can get for hole shot you could go with 2409 which is a 13.5 x 13.5 .060 cup (super aggressive), or a 1619 which is 13.5 x 13.75 .105 cup (still really aggressive). The choice is up to you. But all those props should help get you on plane. Also don't forget to start at taps 1 when pulling someone up then adjusting when planed out.Last edited by bobbysky; 05-09-2013, 08:41 PM.

Wake was super sick. It handled it up front no problem, these boats like about 50/50 front to back. If your boat has the spray pockets in the back corner of the hull you won't be able to go that high with weight or the wake starts to curl over. I had a fiberglass guy fill mine in, you can search it on this forum because I had post dedicated to it. If I were you I would step up to the the 1579 over what acme recommended. You are going to be running a decent amount of weight and the 1579 pulls super hard and accelerates like a sports car. And I could still hit close to 40mph with that prop. The 537 will be a step up, but that is basically the bone stock prop that most companies run these days. And I feel that you will not be as satisfied with that prop. But it's your money.

I agree with Bobby. With the Merc 315 and ballast, I would like to have a little less pitch then the 16" of the 537. Or maybe 1433, with is 14.0" dia, so .5" more then the 537, but the same 14.25 pitch as the 1579. The extra diameter of the 1433 will somewhat offset the pitch drop, so the RPMs wont be as high. The extra surface are will also come in handy when loaded for surfing. The biggest thing we see out of a 537 is cavitate when listed for surfing, not hole-shot complaints.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

No I would go with the 1579. If you want to take the same chance I did going close to the hull, go with the 1433. It never affected my hull, and you get roughly 150 rpm drop over the 1579 with the same performance. You make the call on if you want to be closer then they tell you it should be.
