Gear Storage / Vest Hanger for Boat Shed - Ideas Please!

In my boat shed, it's all alluminm paneling and we are not allowed to drill holes into it. So I'm looking for ideas (Pictures) of what you've built to store your boards / Skis and Vest after a day out on the water.

I've got some ideas, but I'm sure there are some lessons learned from those of you that have built them already on "Wish I had done XYZ" or "rebuilt it for X." I'd like to only build it once and enjoy more time out on the water!

Thanks for your advice and pictures.

What about the rafters? I put bike hooks then a rod to hang the jackets on. You could do something similar for the boards, I have seen the fabric / material board holder that you can use to hang from above.

Thanks Skippa. I dont know that I really looked at the rafters - think they are 14-16' up. I'll have to check it out this weekend.

That actually can be a plus. You back the boat in then go to the transom or a side and unload the jackets while on the boat. Makes it easy, you don't have to unload and carry them and then take them back and load them back in the boat.

I have something similar in my boat storage and just used rope that's looped through the top of each side/support beams. I just grabbed a tall ladder and had my wife measure each "drop" to about chest high. I have about four of them in there and hang all my vests on hangars. No drilling or installing. I dont have any pictures though.

This was just posted in another thread. Looks to be completely self supported

99.99% I did cheat and drill a hold to hold the closet rod holder end. The bar where the life jackets are in the pic. Other than that, yes, freestanding.

Matt, Skippa, good ideas for sure. I've gotta say that I do like what Shawndoggy did in the other thread too. I'll have to run to the shed and look at the support beams and see if it makes sense given their positioning in the shed - or if the free standing racks that Shawn did is better for it.
