Battery for boat mate lift motor

Looking for battery type info for boat lift. I want to get separate battery and hook up to solar panel, but having hard time finding info on battery recommendation. Any advice?

12V battery, right? Whats the estimated draw of the lift while under load? I would consider enough A/h's for 2-3 lift cycles without relying on the charger. A solar charger will not replenish the battery in a short period. Other then that, plan 'ol wet cell or AGM, either one.

So would you recommend second battery in boat to allow for recharge or separate battery with solar panel?

Im not sure I fallow on what the boat has to do with powering the boat lift? Are you wanting to power the lift with a battery thats installed in the boat and then have a solar charger to maintain it while the boat is on the lift? I suppose it could be done, but consider the cost of a battery, I would go with a dedicated setup just for the lift and leave the boat out of the mix.
