    Perfect Pass

I just had Perfect Pass Wakeboard Pro installed a few days ago on my '98 21i. I have not been on the water yet but noticed that the throttle is very stiff now especially the first few inches out of neutral. Is this normal/common???

I just got one put into my 24V, and noticed that the motor revs at a higher RPM at times when in neutral. No problem with throtle stiffness.

can you guys tell me where the pick up sensor is for your perfect pass. Mine has a very hard time keeping the boat constant at about 19-21 mph, as well as in turns, just wondering if they put it in the wrong spot. I have heard that your supposed to mount it in front of the fins, but mine is mounted on the side of the engine.

      Thanks in advance.

Does it work well? keep good speeds? I have heard transom mounting is bad.

yeah...it works perfect, have not had any issues. As far as I know, most of them are mounted like that, my buddies 20V riders (from factory) came mounted on the transom. Hopefull we are talking about the same thing...well...hell, lemme just post a pictar.

              Gschmidt,

That is your regular Tige speedo, the paddle wheel is located on the port side. You can look in the engine compartment and see the thru hull. Don't mount PP on the transom, it won't work.

Mine is mounted on the bottom of the boat (hull) near the fins. I have a 1999 2200V. I had the wakeboard pro installed 2 yrs ago when the original PP went out. The people at perfect pass gave me a great deal on the upgrade to the wakeboard pro. I had it installed at a local shop ( I was to scared to drill a hole in my boat). I have nothing but good things to say about the wakeboard pro and perfect pass.

Ah, thanks for the correction KJ. I was told by someone else that was the PP sensor. I guess it helps to have someone who previously owned your boat tell you whats up haha...

Mine's installed in the same place, to the right and behind the fins (through the hull), right next to my V-Drive. Mine works well. PerfectPass is not as accurate in hard turns because of the additional turbulence under the hull when this happens, but other than that it works great. I have noticed that it take a while for the computer to adjust to dramatic weight changes in the boat, especially if your prop is cavitating a lot. I recently upgraded to a new Acme 3-Blade prop that looks more like a giant jetski impeller than a traditional prop and that has helped a lot.

Also, you may want to check your troubleshooting guide for your specific symptoms. There's usually a simple explanation (I don't have mine in front of me now), but from what I recall, you should check the auto-tension mechanism installed on the trottle control by your engine. If your throttle cable is sticking, then it may be having trouble adjusting the throttle. (the manual gives you some pretty easy instructions for determining if this is the case).

I have the PP Wakeboard Pro and it was installed last year (I think it's Version 6.5). I love it.

Dom, on inboards like ours, it should be mounted opposite of the fresh water intake. Or at least in that general area.

I know you ride at Thunderbird... there still water in it? Draper is full!

                          Paddle-wheel replacement

                          Hi all,
I've ordered a new (PP) paddle wheel kit and have not replaced it yet for my 21V Riders. Any suggestions or info I should know or do before I install it? I broke the paddle wheel on my hoist, so I have to replace it. Received the new one (paddle-wheel & o-rings) but it did not come w/instructions. I'm sure I can figure it out, but if anyone has done it, I'd appreciate the advice. Thanks.....

Just take the old one out. It has a retaining ring holding it down or a pin going thru it. When inserting the new one make sure you have the arrow pointing forward.
